Description

Lake Villa Holiday Cottages and Hidden Lakes are situated in rural north Devon just three miles form the cornish border. If you want a peaceful location, with lots of outdoor space, dark night skies, and a 20 minute drive to some of the best beaches in the uk...then this is the property for you. We have hosted many family holidays, celebrations, birthday gatherings and party weekends (out of season) The three cottages sleep up to 7, 5, and 2, so a total of 14 plus cots. There is a flower-filled courtyard and parking right outside plus access to the lovely gardens and tennis court. 200 metres away is our own mini nature reserve, our 6 acre meadow and 2 lakes, one for fishing, a bbq and a fire pit is available along with a cabin to make yourselves a cuppa in. Children and pets are welcome.

This is a great location for families/groups who love the great outdoors. As well as our own facilities (mentioned above), the best of the South West’s beaches are within 10 miles. The coast path, running the entire way around the south west peninsula is within 7 miles and offers spectacular walking. The Tamar Lakes are 3 miles away with kayaking, wind surfing and bird watching. The Tarka Trail, an off-road cycle track, is 7 miles away. We can organise clay pigeon shooting and archery, all in the area.

The village of Bradworthy is less than half a mile away and has a pub (child and dog friendly) serving food everyday, a tea rooms and several shops.

“Perfection - Hard to match”

14 adults, 5 children and 3 dogs rented all properties for a long weekend to celebrate a 70th. birthday - not an easy number to accommodate. However there was not one grumble and Lesley and Pete are the perfect hosts - nothing too much trouble but were not intrusive. The children loved exploring the garden, playing tennis, fishing the lakes and visiting Bude beach. We used Swallow Barn as the main base where we all sat down and ate together.Although weather was bitterly cold the central heating was on from 7a.m. until 10p.m. so we were toastie! Plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for a large number of guests and dishwashers were appreciated! The children all want to return here for our next get together. Thankyou Lesley and Pete for such brilliant hospitality and at such reasonable prices per. head. Spectacular area for sightseeing or comfortable accommodation to laze in with an amazing assortment of reading material on the shelves.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
