From the owner

A warm welcome awaits you at Fig Cottage. We are located in the beautiful village of Holt, a 20-minute drive from historic Bath and just two miles from beautiful Bradford on Avon. Nestled in the gardens of our Grade II listed home and bordered by National Trust gardens, Fig Cottage offers a peaceful retreat in the idyllic Wiltshire Countryside. We are a five-minute walk from The Courts National Trust gardens, plus two locally renowned pubs, a fantastic tearoom and The Field Kitchen cafe, popular for its great coffee, brunch and lunch. Lacock Abbey, Stonehenge, Longleat House and Safari, Lacock Abbey, Avebury, Stourhead and Dyrham Park are all within easy reach.

Fig Cottage offers spacious, single storey accommodation, with a King size bed, sitting room, kitchen and dining area, plus bathroom with double shower. Crisp white bed linen, a feather duvet, fluffy towels and a Nespresso coffee machine are included for the duration of your stay. Guests can enjoy their own private patio garden, with a Weber BBQ on request. A travel cot and high chair are available and we will happily lend toys for any visiting little people. For a small extra charge we can also offer a sofa bed, which can comfortably sleep one adult or two children. Two adults are welcome to use it, if they don't mind being cosy!

Explore the area!

The historic Georgian city of Bath is just 20 minutes away. Visit the famous Roman Baths, take afternoon tea in The Pump Room, bubble away in a rooftop pool at the Therme Spa, enjoy an exhibition at The Art Museum or simply shop shop shop!

Enjoy the English countryside with stunning walks on your doorstep. A five minute stroll through a meadow will take you to The Courts National Trust gardens, whilst in half an hour you can reach 15th Century Great Chalfield Manor, where Poldark was filmed.

The picturesque town of Bradford-on-Avon is just a five minute drive away. Here you can explore the Kennet and Avon canal by bicycle or boat, take a walk along the river Avon, indulge yourself in the characterful independent shops and boutiques, sample cheeses and fresh veg from the market and admire the stunning architecture.

Garden lovers are spoilt for choice, with The Courts, Iford Manor, Great Chalfield and Dyrham Park within a short, easy drive. Soak up the historic atmosphere at Lacock Abbey and the National Trust village of Lacock, or take a walk in the parkland at Corsham Court, designed by Capability Brown.

Families will have a blast at Longleat House and Safari park. It's just 30 minutes away, as is Bowood House, with its incredible Adventure Playground and Tractor Ted farm.
