Interaction with guest

We try to build up a rapport with our guests so that we can do what we can to advise on any activities, pubs, restaurants etc. if required. The fact that we live five minutes away in Ambleside means we can respond quickly if our quests encounter any problems or have any additional requirements. Review from guest: Fantastic lodge and without question the cleanest, most modern, comfortable and homely lodge we have stayed at! The owners have thought of everything, really was a home from home. The resort itself had great facilities, with many more great pubs restaurants and family attractions on the doorstep. Brockhole is a must for family's offering loads of activity and simple but delicious lunches, and we highly recommend the waters edge

“Beautiful and ideal location”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2019

Absolutely beautiful home, fully equipped with everything you could need. Spacious and gorgeously decorated throughout, it feels like a home from home not a rental accommodation. The owner was very quick to respond and answered all queries quickly and efficiently. The home was very clean and despite being suitable for dogs too there was not a hint of dog or overly harsh chemicals unlike other places we have stayed. The park it is located is very close to both Ambleside and Bowness/Windermere, it too is very well kept and beautiful with plenty of facilities for a family. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the lakes.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to review our lodge and also the amazing resort which has everything for a fabulous family holiday!!

“Fantastic home from home lodge in a beautiful setting”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2019

This lodge is in a great location on the park and also within the Lake District. As a family of 4 adults and 2 dogs, the Lodge was a great size for us all to have our own separate double bedrooms and bathrooms. It is a real home from home with everything you require for a holiday and some lovely extra special touches, like the welcome pack and Christmas decorations. Thank you Margaret for a great start to our 2019.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to review the lodge and it is so much fun decorating it for Christmas!!! Hope to see you again. Margaret

“Gorgeous lodge!!”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2018

We fell in love with this lodge the minute we spotted it on Holiday lettings. We found it a very comfortable lodge to stay in, everything you need is there. The owner, Margaret has thought of everything. Gorgeous modern lodge, lovely decor, spotlessly clean. Great location and so peaceful. Our pet dog 'George' enjoyed staying at the lodge too, he was very relaxed and looked happy, as if he knew he was on holiday! The lodge is very spacious and the enclosed decking outside is ideal. The welcome pack was much appreciated, thankyou! So lovely to find a bottle of red wine waiting for us when we arrived. The surroundings of the lodge are lovely too with all the trees to look out on, plus it was great to look out to the Marina. We would highly recommend this lodge and hope to book to stay here again with family. Thank you :-)

Owner's reply: thank you so much for taking the time to review our lodge and the amazing surroundings! Glad it met George's standards too!!! Margaret

“AMAZING!!”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2016

We have just returned home from a two night stay at this FANTASTIC lodge. We have stayed in many different lodges in White Cross Bay and this is without doubt the best!! Other lodges have looked like they have been furnished from a charity shop - this lodge is very tastefully furnished to a high standard, it could easily compete with a 5 star hotel. The lodge has everything you require, the owners are lovely people and are very generous. On entering the lodge all we could say was "WOW". We just wish we had stayed at this lodge before instead of wasting loads of money on other lodges. If you go to White Cross Bay - stay in this lodge, we, as a family, have very high standards of cleanliness, comfort etc and this lodge more than met them all - we cannot wait to return!!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for a wonderful review and also for your recommendations to others. These reviews are invaluable in helping future guest choose accommodation. Please come back!!!

“Perfect - Home from home”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2016

We've just returned from a weeks stay at Twa Dogs Lodge and have to say it's perfect. There were 5 adults in our group and the lodge is more than big enough to not feel cramped or overcrowded. The good quality furniture and fixtures completed the feeling of being at home but with the lovely location and setting. There is nothing that we wanted or needed that isn't available in the lodge despite our best efforts to think of something. You really could just turn up with a suitcase of clothes, a toothbrush and toothpaste as everything else is provided. We made use of the facilities on site and can confirm these are also of a high standard. We ate in the restaurant, joined in the quiz night and managed a swim and sauna every day. We'd certainly go back again and would recommend the lodge and on site facilities to everyone. On a final note the limited phone signal and wifi connection may be an issue for some but added to the peaceful holiday for us.

Owner's reply: thank you so much for taking the time to review Twa Dogs Lodge. I am glad you loved both the lodge and the park itself. The new management team are just wonderful - so helpful and friendly and the facilities are equally 5 star! Would love to see you back again. Margaret

“Beautiful lodge stunning place”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2016

We have just returned from a great week at TWA Dogslodge (never got around to asking Margaret why the name) it was our first holiday all together, thats myself my husband our adult son and daughter plus my son in law and 2 yr old grandson and our two dogs and I was a little nervous we may be a bit cramped but I need'nt have worried there was comfortably enough room for all,the lodge is beautifully decorated and the attention to detail without fault, there was absolutely everything you could want in a home away from home, and the welcome pack including a bottle of wine very welcoming. The sight is equally good there is an indoor pool which we used and found very good, sauna, steam room, gym, shop, restaurant which we only used their take away service but that was excellent, children's play area and a multi sport area. There is a marina and adjacent to that a wooded area to walk the dogs which was very useful for my two. While we were there we visited Bowness and took a boat trip, visited Wray Castle great for kids, took a steam train ride and visited the aquarium at Lakeside and visited ST Bees beach which is dog friendly and everyone in our group loved and for the adventurous there is Brockhole which is a short walk from the site offering tree top walks and zip wires. The lodge makes a perfect base to visit these and many more, in this stunning part of the country, while we were at the lodge we had a small problem with the shower but I contacted Margaret and she responded very quickly and couldn't have been more helpful, thank you Margaret for letting us stay in your beautiful lodge we would certainly recommend to friends and family, and would love to return ourselves.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to review the lodge. You certainly packed a lot into your stay and I am glad the dogs loved their time in the lodge. Would welcome you back anytime.
