Description

Imagine relaxing for a few days in your totally private waterfront cottage just an hour from downtown Vancouver. Enjoy sunsets, 2 bedrooms with either king or twin beds, 2 full bathrooms, private hot tub, bbq, open air hot outside shower in the garden, private tennis court, great swimming beach.

The cottage is fully equipped, offering all amenities, plus nature at its' finest. Enjoy bird watching, soaring eagles, grazing deer, seals, otters and ever passing boat traffic from your huge deck. If your timing is right you may even see the sea lion, dolphins, orcas or humpback whale that frequent the waters. The island also offers golf, kayak rentals, hiking trails, adventure tours, restaurants, shopping, general store, organic grocery store and a liquor store. There is transit bus service available during the rush hour times of day for those who do not want to bring a car. The bus stops just around the corner 2 or 3 minutes from the cottage. The cottage is pet friendly without a cost to you. Our only request is to please scoop. No one likes to step in any little surprises.

We want you to feel as though your time spent at Bluewater Cottage is like staying in your own waterfront get-away. The added bonus is it comes without the high costs and maintenance hassles involved. Pricing is structured to enable guests to return as often as they wish. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy all 4 seasons of island living.

A virtual tour of the cottage is available on our website. Rates vary depending upon number of nights and guests plus the time of year. Please contact us and we will be happy to email them to you. Gifts Certificates are also available for special occassions. One thing our guests often tell us is how much they enjoy sitting down with our stack of guest books from the past 18 years. It has given us an incredible amount of pleasure being able to offer our guests a special place with the comforts of home that they can return to year after year or whenever they just need a little R & R. Please contact me for our full rate discription. One guest book entry from many years ago when we first started to offer the cottage wrote. "Gail we wish you all of the success in the world but sorry we aren't going to tell anyone about it."

Getting around

The best way to see the sites is if you have a car so that you can explore the various areas of the island but it is not necessary. Many of our guests bus to the cottage. Trans-link bus as well as taxi service are also available. Trans-link stops about 1 block from the cottage and operates during rush hour and also has a special summer schedule. A passenger water taxi service runs at night from Horseshoe Bay to Snug Cove. As well there is a water taxi service from downtown Vancouver. There are various trails for hiking, biking plus you can also rent kayaks or scooters in Snug Cove.

House rules

-Children are welcome as long as they are always under adult supervision for safety..
-Pets are allowed for no extra cost. We only ask that you please scoop after them and also that they are under your control at all times as we have a dear family that has lived on the property for years.
-Smoking is allowed outside only. Please be responsible and don't throw butts off the deck as they could easily start a fire.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Gail (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
