The accommodation has been recently refurbished with comfortable furnishings and a good range of equipment. At the end of the road you will find miles of safe, sandy beaches at Fisherman's Walk with its Victorian cliff lift lowering to the glistening waters below, an ideal beach location for those coastal lovers. This holiday property is also walking distance to Southbourne High Street for local shops including banks, post office, launderette, bespoke boutiques, bars and restaurants. A slightly longer walk will lead you to Boscombe which is the UK's most innovative seafront attraction. The Overstrand beach front complex, designed in 1958, has been transformed into a year-round leisure facility catering to water sports enthusiasts in the winter and traditional beach visitors in the summer.

If all that is not enough for you, or you want to extend your stay, you can jump in the car and within easy reach of the property is the town centre of Bournemouth for a wide variety of family entertainment, with traditional seaside attractions and of course the English favourite 'fish and chips'. A short car drive in the opposite direction offers the vast New Forest with it's roaming ponies and charming villages or the Jurassic coast of the Purbecks, this accommodation provides a great base to explore all the local areas whatever the weather.

The Dorset region

Dorset is a very popular holiday destination all year round. It offers beautiful rolling countryside, dramatic scenery, charming market towns, character villages and miles of some of the finest sandy beaches in the UK.

Bournemouth lies to the east of the county and offers seven miles of blue flag beaches. It is near the market town of Christchurch with its 11th century Priory Church, ruined castle and Saxon mill, and the stunning medieval New Forest.

The area caters for diverse interests – the popular buzzing beach resort in Bournemouth with its vibrant nightlife; the gentler pursuits of walking, wildlife and bird-watching in the nature reserves and national parks, and along the 20 miles of Bournemouth Coast footpath; and active pursuits such as cycling, sailing, rowing, canoeing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and sea kayaking. Popular also for touring, Southampton, the Isle of Wight, Salisbury and Stonehenge are all within reasonable travelling distance.

Dorset features some excellent museums, with world leading centres at Bovington (The Tank Museum, telling the history of military vehicles), and the Russell Cotes Museum and Art Gallery in Bournemouth. Other museums include the Dorset County Museum in Dorchester, The Red House in Christchurch, the Royal Signals Museum at Blandford, and the award winning Brewers Quay in Weymouth. Many smaller towns have their own local museums.

Boscombe is situated on the coast with it’s own pier, beautiful gardens and flourishing local tourism industry. The main shopping area is based around a pedestrian precinct, including part of Sea Road, with shops, cafes and restaurants surrounding this open area. Towards the west more shops lead to the beautifully restored Victoria Boscombe Chine Gardens, and eastwards the shopping area leads towards Pokesdown, with the famous ‘antiques alley’ featuring antiques and bric a brac. Shops also flourish in adjoining roads, including Ashley Road and Palmerston Road leading towards Springbourne.

Boscombe is well served by over 10 local bus services, including a service between the Bus Station and the sea front during peak holiday times. The main bus station is just behind the Sovereign Centre, a short walk through to the main shops.

Boscombe pier leads to the popular family beaches perfect for early morning swimming, surf lessons, and body boarding. The recently refurbished Boscombe Gardens features a mini golf course and sports complex; children’s play area and café. Boscombe is home to Europe's first artificial surf reef, which launched in November 2009.

One of the main highlights of staying in Boscombe it it’s accessibility to both the beaches and town centre in Bournemouth, and the nearby peaceful town of Southbourne. Set in one of the most beautiful parts of southern England, Bournemouth and Poole are justly famous for their seven miles of golden sandy beaches, awarded Blue Flag status meaning they are internationally recognised to be of the highest standard, but there is so much more to the area than the seashore.
