Description

Located within walking distance of Bournemouth town centre, shops, restaurants and 7 miles of beautiful sandy beaches, these pretty mews cottages are set within the attractive gardens of an old manor house. All are nicely decorated and the kitchens are fully fitted with integrated applicances including oven/hob, tall fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher and microwave oven. On the the patio, each cottage has its own rustic bench seating and there are picnic tables on the large front lawn enabling guests to dine al fresco or to just sit and read. The beautiful sandy beaches are within a five-minute walk of the cottage


We welcome families, up to three generations, and mature couples. We regret that we are not equipped to cater to groups of singles.

Le cottage est propre et ne manque de rien. Il est bien situé car la ville et les plages sont facilement accessibles à pied. Nous y retournerions avec plaisir.

“Tastefully decorated cottage set in tranquil grounds”

The cottage was situated in the grounds of an old manor house. The large garden is full of trees and shrubs and there are picnic tables where you can sit out and have dinner alfresco. The interior of the cottage is beautifully decorated, the owner has made a huge effort with the furniture, which was modern and stylish. The kitchen and bathrooms are very nicely decorated, there is a downstairs cloakroom which was very useful and the property was very clean throughout. If you do not have a car, the cottage is near bus stops where the buses are very frequent into town and to Boscombe. The bus service is very good, we visited Swanage, Christchurch, Westbourne and Poole easily by bus. There is an open top bus to Swanage. The cottage is less than a 8 minute walk to the beach and can walk into town via this way. We travelled by train and found that the station was less than 10 minutes away. Asda is very near by and there is Sainsbury's in Boscombe. The cottage was very warm and the central heating was programmed to come on day and night. The owner was very warm and friendly and I would recommend this cottage.

I stayed at Shell cottage with my partner and my 2 children, 6 months old girl and 7 year old son. I must say the the accommodation is of the highest standard and the cleanliness is spotless, we stayed for a long weekend and had a fantastic time, Bournemouth is a great place and we had a fantastic time. I would just like to thank Mrs Lazenby the owner who helped out with local information and helping us plan our days out, Splashdown at Tower Park swimming pool is amazing, my son loved the slides. All in all a fantastic break and most of all the cottage was perfect, we will be back next spring for another break.

This could have been a very enjoyable stay as the location and setting of the holiday homes is lovely. Unfortunately the poor cleanliness, lack of equipment i.e 4 cups for 6 people, too few glass and a dishwasher that didn't work, along with the attitude of the owner upon complaint made for a less than perfect stay. We also had difficulty in getting our security deposit returned.

Owner's reply: This view does not reflect the opinions and experiences of our other guests. We have many happy guests who return to our cottage year after year.
