Location description from owner

The England region

Central Southern England is a very popular tourist destination and benefits from not only a spectacular coastline but beautiful countryside and the New Forest. The area has so much to offer, from the country’s finest seafood restaurants, to country pubs; from castles and museums to adventure parks.

The New Forest is a national park which combines ancient woodlands, forest glades and wonderful open spaces, great for peaceful walks. Ponies, cattle and deer still graze freely as they have done for centuries.

Dorset has amazing beauty with 140km of coastline, from Lyme Regis to Christchurch which features a selection of the UK’s best beaches.

Many of the towns and villages have popular tourist pulls: Chesil Bank with the stunning 25km barren pebble beach stretching from Weymouth to Bridgeport; Dorchester with its 6000 years of history, Roman relics and Higher Bockhampton – Thomas Hardy’s birthpalce; and Lyme Regis which was featured in the Meryl Steep and Jeremy Irons film 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' and where the best fossil hunting in the country can be done.
In the area, there is a museum for everyone, if the Tank Museum in Bovington doesn’t appeal to you, maybe the Dorset County Museum in Dorchester would, or the award winning Brewers Quay in Weymouth.

There are 140 picturesque villages in the region, featuring quaint names like Toller Porcorum, Nettlescombe and Cerne Abbas.

Adventure Wonderland is a family fun park with themed rides and entertainment, including shows featuring characters from Alice in Wonderland and boasts one of the largest mazes in the UK.

Bournemouth

Boscombe is a suburb of Bournemouth which is on the map in its own right thanks to a beautiful sandy beach and Europe’s first artificial surf reef. The reef is the size of a football pitch and since its opening in 2009 has fast become a popular destinations for both beginner and experienced surfers.

Built in 1888 and fully restored in 2007, Boscombe pier is an impressive sight with its unique aircraft wing design entrance, new decking, lighting and viewing section at the end. Boscombe Cliff Gardens offers an impressive view that stretches from Hengistbury Head, through Bournemouth all the way to Poole Harbour.

There is an impressive variety of quality restaurants, pubs and cocktail bars just minutes from the maisonette, several of which offer regular live music.

The centre of Boscombe has a good range of high street name and independent stores and on Thursdays and Saturdays a bustling market where you will find fresh fruit and vegetable, meat and fresh seafood stalls as well as many clothing stalls.

Once described by Thomas Hardy as the ‘Mediterranean lounging place on the English Channel,’ Bournemouth is an ever popular tourist destination with its 7 miles of award winning blue flag golden beaches. Beach huts were invented here in 1908, and those original huts (the oldest in the world) can still be rented today.

The award winning Central Gardens stretch from the sea at Bournemouth pier for several miles down the Valley of the river Bourne and includes the Pleasure Gardens, the Bournemouth Eye Balloon and the Pavillion.

The free Air Festival from 18th – 21st August features incredible air displays, attractions and fantastic evening entertainment, and has been selected as a finalist in the 2010/11 South West England Tourism Awards.

The Christmas Market from 18th November to Christmas Eve features German inspired chalets, an Alpine chalet style bar, carol singers and a brass band as well as the usual food, drink and present stalls and visits from Santa himself.

There is a thriving youth culture here due to the high university population and many language school students. The seeds of new business culture are revolving around surfing and a Californian lifestyle is emerging.

“A beautiful apartment in a perfect location”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2016

Flat 11 was the perfect holiday flat. It had everything you could possibly need. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into what guests would like and they have provided it in abundance. The apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival and all instructions and information from the owners was clear and very useful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this lovely apartment to anyone.

“Superb accommodation!”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2016

Flat 11 is set within the stunning Burlington mansion. It has everything you need & more. Attention to detail is second to none-instructions for all equipment even a box of spare bulbs! The beds & sofas are extremely comfortable.this is our 3rd visit -just couldn't stay anywhere else nothing would meet the high standard of this flat. This year new carpets & new paintwork throughout which shows the owner takes great pride in ensuring a high standard is maintained. The flat is close to pier/beach & lovely restaurants all within short walk. Public transport extremely good.the only thing we havent managed to get right is the weather!!

“Absolutely recommend”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2015

My wife and I were really impressed by this apartment, which provided a warm, comfortable, spacious place to stay with our 15-month-old baby. The apartment was undoubtedly the best we have stayed in with regards to being child-friendly, including a stair-gate, high-chair and good size travel cot. It was generally extremely well-equipped, very clean, and with tasteful modern decor, All that was missing was a break from the rain, but we chose the wrong week! We absolutely recommend.

“Outstanding comfort, very spacious and extremely clean.”

This is the second time we have booked with Teresa. We stayed in her other apartment, which was lovely, but this apartment was even better. Plenty of space in all of the rooms and the facilities are spot on, even a selection of DVD's in case the weather lets you down. Booking was easy, payment was made directly into Teresa's bank account and she sent confirmation once it was received. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to stay in Bournemouth you will not be disappointed,

“Best accommodation ever!”

Reviewed 22 Jun 2015

Recently stayed in Flat 11 at Burlington Mansions and what a little treasure it was. The flat is superbly well appointed with every comfort you could possibly need. The three bathrooms were a luxury and the beds very comfortable. It was very cool inside despite the very hot weather which was a blessing. The owners really have thought of everything down to free broadband, TiVo and reclining settees. There were also lots of dvd's available for wet weather days although we had no need for it as our weather was so good. All in all the best accommodation we have stayed in.

“Modern flat near boscombe reef and beaches”

Reviewed 2 Jun 2015

We stayed five days at this apartment and it was a very good choice. The spacious flat ist modern furnished, freshly renovated and located in a lovely historical building. The beaches and the beautiful coast of dorset are accessible on foot. The only limitation is the traffic in the morning - but this depends on the british single glazed windows ;-)

“Will be back!”

Reviewed 3 Feb 2015

Extremely comfortable apartment in a beautiful, historic property, just minutes away from Boscombe pier and miles of stunning sea front. Everything is as described, even better than it looks from the photos. The booking process was very efficient, professional and helpful, many thanks Teresa!

We are very pleased you and your family enjoyed your winter break. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

“Surprisingly comfortable - home from home”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2014

This accommodation is very comfortable and we thoroughly recommend it. It has all the mod-cons of home. Layout is open with enough natural light. Rooms aren’t poky. It is only 5mins walk to the beach, which our children (and us) really appreciated. The location is also very good for a leisurely walk along the promenade to the centre of Bournemouth. We may even go back in a couple of years.

“A+, the best holiday flat you will ever have the pleasure of staying in.”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2014

the flat is immaculate, its spacious & light, all furnishings are of an extremely high quality. kitchen is very well equipped with instructions for every appliance in a folder-very useful. beds are very comfortable, linen & towels very soft-most important. lots of good restaurants in the area, Bournemouth/sandbanks a short bus ride away or a stroll on the seafront. plenty to do for all age groups. all in all I would highly recommend this holiday flat its the best accommodation we have ever stayed in- this is our second year, & it won't be the last!also the building the flat is within is absolutely stunning!
