Bouillac is situated on the border of the Lot and Aveyron departments, in the Midi-Pyrenees region of France. The village of 444 inhabitants is quiet with an undercurrent of activity - there are frequent weddings, festivals and other activities in the village and surrounding area. The nearest airport is Rodez (30 minutes) which has regular flights from London Stansted and Dublin. There are several popular tourist areas less than an hour from Bouillac, including Rocamadour, St. Cirque Lapopie, Padirac and Conques. All are perfect for a day out. Even closer are places like Capdenac Le Haut, an ancient Roman fortified town, and Figeac, a vibrant market town that is bustling with people every Saturday morning.

Bouillac

Midi Pyrenees is green even in summer, with sweeping valleys and rivers that attract all kinds of activities. Bouillac even has its own rowing club. The river is 100m from the house and is the ideal place to take a walk and listen to the water rushing over the brook. There are two bar/restaurants, a local shop that is also a boulangerie. It also makes speciality cakes and luxury chocolates. Play boules at the back of the house (boules available on request) or simply have a coffee on the balcony and watch the friendly locals pass by.

“Well appointed property in a lovely french village”

Reviewed 7 Feb 2014

My wife and I stayed at this property in July and we loved it. The property itself was very tastefully decorated in a idyllic little French village. The location was great for us as it was very quiet and we felt safe walking around the village (which has a really nice bakery we would recommend). We found it was an excellent base to explore the surrounding area and particularly enjoyed our visit to Conques. The property had everything we needed and benefitted from a really nice loft conversion. We feel we would certainly like to return and look forward to our next visit.
