Bougan Villa is a lovely house with private pool situated in a small development in Bottom Bay on the unspoilt SE coast of Barbados.

The house has been finished to a high standard and has recently been redecorated throughout. The villa has all the accommodation and facilities needed to ensure that visitors have an amazing holiday on this beautiful island.

The well equipped kitchen contains all you need to prepare a six course banquet or a simple G&T! There is a large oven with electric grill and hob, a large fridge freezer with water and ice dispenser and a microwave. There is ample crockery, cutlery and utensils and also a coffee machine, a 4 x toaster and Ninja blender.

The separate dining room is beautifully decorated and has a ceiling fan and bi-fold doors leading out onto the covered terrace. Bougan Villa is one of the only properties on the Atlantic Rising development that has a separate dining room. If you prefer to eat al fresco there is also a dining table and chairs on the roof terrace.

The bedrooms are both air conditioned and have their own bathrooms. The master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and en suite and the second bedroom has large fitted wardrobes with ample storage. There are also fans available for both bedrooms.

The comfortable lounge has two large sofas, two ceiling fans and a large flat screen TV with satellite channels. There are plenty of books and also games for guests' use.

The inside living area is comfortable, light and airy and leads out onto the shady extended terrace which is perfect for lazy days overlooking the private pool and lawned garden.

The palm trees provide for shady al fresco dining on the roof terrace and the views from the roof terrace of the nearby ocean are wonderful... the perfect place to enjoy the sun rise or set.

There is free WiFi throughout the villa and garden and the use of a telephone for free calls within Barbados - perfect for booking those restaurants or day trips!

The Atlantic breeze on this side of the island means that even on the hottest days the temperatures are comfortable. Bottom Bay beach (voted as being in The Times' and Conde Nast's top-ten best beaches in the world) with its white sands and coconut palms is 3 minutes amble away. Harrismith, Palmetto and Long Bay (our personal favourite) are also stunning beaches which are just a short stroll. For less confident swimmers the Northern end of Long Bay has a very calm swimming area (see photographs).

For those of you looking for exciting night life and fine dining, the busier South and West coasts are a brief car/taxi/bus ride away. For the surfers amongst you a trip to the legendary Soup Bowl at Bathsheba on the East coast is a must, and is only 20 minutes drive away.

“Beautiful and quiet location”

The villa was 5 minutes from Bottom Bay and some stunning walks across the cliffs to other little bays. We would advise you have a car if you want to go further afield and get groceries etc. There is lots to see around south east and east coast including;Huntes Gardens, monkey sanctuary, flower cave, views from Gun Hill etc etc and west coast beaches are only 14 miles away. We were looked after by Jan and husband and made very welcome. The villa has everything you need. we enjoyed sitting out on the patio with a few drinks with a dip in the plunge pool when it got too hot.

The villa is very well equipped and situated in a nice quiet location on the South East coast. It was extremely clean and well kept with all the comforts you need for a relaxing stay. Jan and John were so friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. We would highly recommend staying here and found it excellent value for money and hosts who really care that you have a great trip.

“Holiday of a lifetime”

This was not our first time in the Caribbean but it was definitely our best. We were a mixed group of teenage boys, early twenties girls and the oldies who paid for most of it. Barbados is a brilliant place to visit with loads of brilliant beaches and activities and Bougan Villa was a brilliant place to be based. The activities of the 'Crop Over' were great family events and there are lots of activities going on into the night for those with plenty of energy. The locals certainly encourage you to take part!! We did belly boarding, snorkelling, scuba. kayaking and catamaran cruise as well as quiet walks (all suggested by Nicola, the owner) and loads and loads of sunbathing. Nicola also gave a suggestion of places to eat both up-market and 'cheap and cheerful' and the Bajan hospitality was brilliant. Bougan Villa was supperb for chilling and relaxing. We had fabulous meals at home, barbecues around the pool and there were even some 'fast food' options for the younger members close by. All told, this was a brilliant holiday - made even better by staying in a house that was a real 'home from home'. We are just checking our diaries to see when our next visit will be.

What a find! We rented this villa at the end of February into March. EXCELLENT time of year! Warm and sunny, little humididty and incredible tradewinds that cooled completely! NO BUGS in sight anywhere! Prior to our trip I asked Nicola a MILLION questions all of which she answered so promptly and cheerfully each and every time. We knew at that moment we had found a winner! We arrived after a long flight to a SPOTLESSLY CLEAN home. (we are neat freaks so this was a huuuuuge plus). Not a single speck of dust, sand, dirt anywhere. The house had all of the amenities you could want. 3 bedrooms, ac, fans, nice living room, directv, 2 full baths, a cute little kitchen with oven/stove, coffee maker, even a clothes washer if needed! JUST LOVELY! The house had books and info about the island and things to do. The owners put together a nice packet of info for us, where to go, what to see as well as a treasure map so to speak. A walk-about map tour of some amazing sites and photo ops! How nice is that and who does that for you? No one else ever has for us! There is a beautiful crystal CLEAN swimming pool and a gorgeous outdoor patio with table and chairs as well as a rooftop deck. The yard is kept so nice and pristine with beautiful flowers throughout. We had wonderful meals, went ziplining at Aerial Trek (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and hiked, sunned, swam, took long walks through the neighborhood, shopping in Bridgeport, etc etc. RELAXATION! One of the most important things to note...the caretakers of the property. Jan and John. Absolute gems! So helpful, courteous, kind. Went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. When we left we felt like we were leaving our own home and friends behind. This was an amazing trip and now tops our list of many others! I have been back since Saturday morning and LONG to be back in paradise! Do not hesitate to rent this lovely well-kept villa !!
