“Another delightful stay at The Coach House”

Reviewed 13 Jan 2016

Loved it so much last year we booked it again this year. It was lovely walking back into the property as it was exactly as I remembered it from the previous year meaning that it is very well maintained with no visible signs of wear and tear. The weather was particularly bad this year with flooding and roads disappearing but Helen had kept us up to date with forecasts and what was open and what wasn't. It didn't put us off and had a lovely relaxing week with our dogs... we even managed Catbells this year! We invited some friends to stay with us for a night and they loved it so much they've booked to stay in February.

“Well equipped cottage in lovely location.”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2015

Stayed here for our 2 week holiday with husband and children aged 10 and 12 plus dog. We had an amazing holiday. The cottages location is so pretty with walks from the front door. The cottage was clean, modern and well equipped. Helen even came in half way through to change the bedding and give the bathroom a clean! The only thing we can say that's slightly negative is the kitchen is small so can be a challenge to eat around the table! We managed it though. We were lucky enough to have house martins nesting in the guttering which was so enjoyable to watch!

“Brilliant location, fantastic accommodation - perfect”

A fantastic location with amazing views, peaceful, beautiful cottage with everything you need - a real home from home.

“Peaceful and relaxing in cosy and comfortable cottage”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2015

The Coach House exceeded our expectations in terms of location and the stunning views from the picture window in the lounge and the lovely bay in the bedroom. The cottage had everything we needed for our weeks stay and was home away from home (but with better views!). The beds were extremely comfortable, the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water, lots of wardrobe and draw space and a fully equipped and modern kitchen. Helen, the cottage owner, makes everything as easy as possible with lots of clear communication prior to your stay, during (information left in the cottage) and afterwards. There are dozens of great walks on the door step but about 2 - 3 miles from the nearest pub! We are trying to book the cottage again for this year as it was just perfect for us!

“Fantastic place”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2015

Great little cottage, very modern and well equipped, great fire, walk straight onto the fells, lovely and quite. Close to Keswick and all of Borrowdale. A must place to stay.

“Best cottage we have stayed in”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2014

This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Great secluded location with walks from the door with dog. Top quality accommodation with all you need. Marvellous views. The owner was very helpful when booking and during our stay.

“High quality accomdation in a great location”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2014

I've stayed here a few times and always been impressed by the consideration shown to guests comfort, good quality furnishings and kitchen equipment are a small thing but really makes you think someone cares about your experience rather than taking the cheapest option every time. The complimentary tea loaf and local paper on arrival is a really nice touch too! The cottage is warm, dry and has plenty of room for 4 adults, the real fire is fantastic to come back to in the colder months. Parking is limited but there should always be room for 2 cars (with 2 bedrooms there really shouldn't be any need for more?) Location is perfect, the lower catbells path can be reached from the rear of the property giving access to dozens of walks without ever touching tarmac. For an evening out a taxi into the center of Keswick is only £10 or so, giving plenty of options when you don't feel like cooking or just want to sample the local beer.

“Beautiful cottage in the heart of the lake district”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2014

We love the lake district and have stayed in many cottages. This has to be by far one of the best, everything catered for, cosy, log fire, lovely grounds, reminded me of the film the Holiday, we loved it. Getting straight onto the fells from the cottage was fantastic, would highly recommend this especially to keen walkers. We were that impressed booked again while on holiday ;-)

“Great cottage in a great location”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2014

Beautiful views, plenty of walks from the cottage so no driving and was a huge advantage to be able to take the dogs.
