Hayloft Cottage, a Cumbrian sandstone barn conversion, is ideally situated on a working beef and sheep farm on the fringes of the Lake District National park. Its tranquil rural location provides a relaxing getaway while being centrally based for exploring the Lake District, The Solway coast, Hadrians Wall and the Border with Scotland.

We offer spectacular views over Cumbrian countryside towards Skiddaw and the Lakeland fells while the immediate surroundings provide the opportunity to meander along the course of the Little Waver river and discover a host of wildlife including badgers, deer and foxes or enjoy the rich variety of birds and wild flowers.

A galleried entrance leads to an open plan living area with a modern well equipped kitchen, spacious dining area and comfortable lounge. On the ground floor are two bedrooms, one king size with an en-suite bathroom featuring a double ended bath plus a twin bedroom and seperate shower room. The addition of a sofa bed and provision of a travel cot and highchair cater for 6 guests plus a small child.

After a day spent in the Cumbrian countryside return to our cottage to enjoy the warmth of the wood burning stove, our home grown vegetables straight from the field, and spacious, well equipped accommodation.

The Stackyard Holiday Cottages are ideal for busy families and couples alike. Our outdoor areas and farm location make The Stackyard Holiday Cottages relaxing and fun to be around.

Why can't I call Natalie (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Natalie (the owner) a message.

If Natalie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
