your place in the sun to relax and get away from it all.
Casa Borboleta is set amongst the orange groves in the small village of Vale Covo, situated between the A22 motorway and the N125 road. Just 7 kms. from Vilamoura and it's famous marina.
With easy access to all main towns, golf courses, beaches, sightseeing spots, walking and cycling trails, it is the ideal setting for those who want to “chill out” yet still be within reach of beaches, watersports and nightlife, if they want it.
If cycling, walking or bidrwatching are your main interests, this is a wonderful spot for you to stay.
The accomodation – the original property was two semi-detached farm cottages and a stable. The two “semis” were converted into our house and the stable is a pretty one bedroom, self contained cottage for two people.
The cottage consists of one bedroom with twinbeds, bathroom, living room/ kitchenette which leads onto a south facing patio, ideal for the sun worshipper and a favourite place for our guests to have meals or to watch the sun set with a glass of wine.
There is a television, DVD player and radio/CD player with a large selection of films and books.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, full gas cooker and fridge/freezer.
Set in the same garden as our house you will have total privacy but we will be on hand to point you in the right direction for places to visit, shopping and cheap but very good eating places!

The Algarve region
Portugal's southernmost coastline, where the sea is warm and calm.
The Algarve has so much to offer. Full of historic places to visit and many small fishing villages to explore
The Algarve has some of the best beaches in Portugal. Its combination of golden sands and hot weather attracts visitors year after year to this stunning stretch of coastline.
More than 100 miles of golden sand is on offer for sun-worshippers. Beaches are lapped by the fresh, clear Atlantic Ocean, which offer a cooling dip when the sun gets too hot
Two large shopping centres and a retail park can be found in Guia and Faro, offering a wide range of shops, restaurants and cinemas.
Lively markets are held weekly in many resorts and villages with colourful stalls laden with leather shoes, bags, handcrafted ceramics, copper and silver jewellery.
Hand woven baskets and decorative tiles can also be found in the region.
Local markets are a great way to buy fresh produce, from almonds and olives to oranges.
When you've had enough of sun, sand and sea, you can visit one of the Algarve's many tourist attractions dotted throughout the region. Water parks are an extremely popular way to cool off in the sunshine. An aquatic centre also has live shows and performances by seals, dolphins and parrots.
For those who enjoy a spot of sightseeing there is Loulé, Silves castle, Sagres and Cape St.Vincent, Faro city, Roman ruins in Vilamoura, Monchique and Foia, the wonderful tiled church in Almancil, the pretty village of Alte and many more waiting to be discovered.
An inexpensive and interesting way to see the countryside is by taking the train which runs between Faro and Lagos.
Outdoor sports and leisure activities are in abundance in the Algarve - thanks to its fantastic sunny climate and array of purpose-built facilities.
It is a golfers paradise with a vast selection of beautiful, challenging and world-class courses to choose from.
A wide variety of fishing and boat trips are available from most resorts. Watersports, tennis and fishing are also popular on this coastline – alongside swimming and snorkelling.
You will discover unspoilt rural countryside perfect for hiking, cycling, birdwatching and horse riding.
In the Algarve people live their lives outdoors. So come and join us.
Enjoy the atmosphere, the climate and the food.
Only seven kilometres from Vale Covo you will find Vilamoura, one of the biggest centres in Europe.
Stylish and contemporary Vilamoura has been designed purely for pleasure. You'll find a fantastic range of sport and leisure facilities, including four championship golf courses, a casino, beautiful gardens, golden beaches (Praia de Vilamoura Marine and Praia da Falesia) and a wide range of watersports. The stunning marina has a wealth of restaurants, bars and shops – and offers the perfect place to relax over a cool drink and admire the smart yachts moored in neat rows.
