Location description from owner
The England region
The New Forest is on the south coast of South West Hampshire and has recently been designated a National Park.
The New Forest is unique in modern Britain, spread over 145 square miles, it is an ancient hunting ground whose character has survived into the 21st Century.
Ponies, donkeys, cattle and pigs wander freely, continuing the ancient Commoning traditions, and 4 species of deer are commonly seen.
Walkers can go largely where they please and the New Forest cycle routes extend for over 160 km.
There are over 100 pubs in the forest, lots of interesting villages, towns and woodland enclosures.
The Isle of Wight is easily reached by the Lymington Yarmouth ferry.
Boldre is a hamlet between Lymington and Brockenhurst, with a beautiful old church and walking access to the new forest, Royden woods and the upper reaches of Lymington River
Lymington is a bustling market town, with quaint cobbles leading down to the Quay, plenty of shops and restaurants and a Saturday market.
Beaulieu is a picture postcard village, with ponies wandering freely and Beaulieu Abbey, Palace House and The National Motor Museum make a great day out.
Nearby Bucklers Hard is situated along the beautiful Beaulieu river and allows visitors to experience the life of an 18th Century ship building village, take a river cruise, walk along the river and enjoy a meal at The Master Builders Hotel.
Sandy beaches can be found at Friars Cliff, children love to go crabbing at Keyhaven and Mudeford and Hurst Castle can be reached by boat or by foot along the spit.
There are boat trips out on the solent from Lymington and Keyhaven and yachts and Ribs can be chartered from Lymington.

“Family pre-Christmas weekend”
On the edge of the New Forest this cosy four bedroomed house was ideal for our annual pre-Christmas trip with grown-up children and grandchildren. Afternoon and evening of arrival was settling in and preparing a family meal. The house was already warm and a fire was set ready to be lit in the snug. With the grandchildren in bed (travel cots provided) we lit the fire and relaxed. Saturday morning started with a cooked breakfast (loved the Aga) and then a trip to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu - we stayed for the Christmas lights in the Palace House for the evening. Grandchildren to bed and then another relaxed dinner and drinks. Sunday morning breakfast and a time to pack and prepare for the journey home. Visited Lymington for a walk and lunch and then stopped in the new Forest for a walk and to meet the horses. When our 3 year old grandson asked where we were going and we said home - he was upset and wanted to go back to the "holiday house".
Owner's reply: Thanks Patrick, sounds like you all had a great time despite a wet weekend. Kind regards Andy
“Idealic location with great facilities”
We had a long weekend and wished we could have stayed longer. The facilities are great with everything you could ever need, very comfortable to the point we did not want to go out! Location is peaceful with good local facilities and some very nice walks in the surrounding countryside. We would certainly like to go back.
