“Great long weekend”

Reviewed 20 Feb 2017

For a group of 5 city ladies looking to escape for a few days, Balblair cottage was perfect for us. The house had everything we needed and plenty of space so that we weren't tripping over each other. The cupboards were well stocked with all the crockery etc. you'd want in your own kitchen. The dining room was great for a long evening meal & the fire in the living room was very cosy. Would love to come back in the summer to get use of the garden! We all agreed that the beds were very comfy - so much so we weren't pining for our own. Balblair cottage was also in a great location. We were able to go out & explore what the area had to offer as well as get any essentials we needed such as food. Pre-arrival arrangements were great and Fiona was more than helpful in helping to get us sorted. Would highly recommmend this cottage!

Owner's reply: Thank you all for this lovely review. I hope, if possible, to see you all again in the summer time. Fiona

“This is a charming cottage”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2016

We loved this charming cottage. It is characterful, with all the amenities we needed and comfortably laid out for a relaxed family holiday. It is well located in the village. The garden was perfect for our two year old grandson and the dog to run around in. The big bed downstairs was huge and very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the sitting room, dining room and sun lounge gave the family plenty space to spread out and relax. The stairs to the other bedrooms are a very short, steep climb and the rooms are small and tucked in under the eaves, which may not suit everyone, but we liked this, it was quirky and fun. You can hear the steam train whistle while you sit at the bedroom window or when you are in the garden with your cup of tea. A lovely Railway Children kind of holiday.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind and honest review of Balblair Cottage. We are delighted that you all had a wonderful time staying at Balblair Cottage. It is wonderful to hear the steam train whistle whilst sitting in the garden. We hope that you are able to return and stay at our "Quirky" Cottage another time. Thank you. Fiona
