Description

Hollyhock Cottage is on the ground floor of the converted barn and provides a comfortable retreat from it all. There are two acres of gardens shared only with Appletree cottage and we are surrounded by fields. This is the perfect place if you want peace and quiet but still be within a reasonable distance of Cornwalls many sights and attractions. There are also lots of walks nearby and we are only a short distance from the popular Camel Trail popular with walkers and cyclists, if you feel energetic!

The England region

Cornwall is rightly famous for its endless supply of sandy beaches and harbours and we are particularly fortunate to be close to so many! Places like Padstow, Polzeath, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle, Fowey & Looe are all under 30 minutes drive from us! Cornwall is also blessed with more than its fair share of wonderful historic houses & gardens,

Cornwall is also blessed with more than its fair share of wonderful historic houses & gardens, both National Trust and privately owned and many of these, including The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project are on the must see list for many people! Lanhydrock House (NT) is only a 15 minute drive from us and their gardens, like many others in Cornwall, are stunning places to visit, particularly in Spring & early Summer.
Walkers, too, are also spoilt for choice and we can offer wonderful moorland and forest walks from the doorstep or amazing coastal paths just slightly further away! Furthermore, we are only a mile from the Camel Trail to Padstow so the area is ideal for cyclists, too! What are you waiting for?

Blisland

Blisland, where we are situated is one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall and one of the very few to have a village green. We are only a short walk to the village, with its old granite cottages, pub & church nestling around the green. The Pub is a Real Ale favourite which also serves food and like many in Cornwall is very dog-friendly! We have a Community run shop with PO and cafe (with internet access) so we can offer guests just about everything they need!
Cornwall is not really about big towns although Lostwithiel and Wadebridge are certainly worth a visit (and Wadebridge has a lovely little cinema!). Truro, the county town is also worth visiting. Local attractions include
Pencarrow House, Cardinham Woods, the Camel Trail, the Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway and Golitha Falls so there is something for everyone within a 15 minute radius!

“Fantastic Cottages a Wonderful Holiday”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2013

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Torr Cottages and we had a wonderful time. The cottages are lovely and really child friendly. We had all of the facilties we could wish for. The grounds are just beautiful with a fantastic garden that our three year old daughter adored. There is lots to do in the surrounding area. Carolyn and Martin made us so welcome and could not do enough for us and the option of a cooked breakfast in the main farmhouse was brilliant. We definitely hope to return again.

“A very pleasant experience”

A lovely week and very peaceful and quiet. Location good for travelling around Cornwall, Great local pub in Blisland with very friendly locals. Dog friendly pub with dogs getting their own chews. Martin and Carolyn great hosts with many details of local interest to enhance your stay

“Beautiful location, fantastic cottage, recommend to anyone!”

Reviewed 2 Mar 2013

We can thoroughly recommend this cottage for a peaceful, relaxed holiday. The accommodation is fantastic for families and suited us perfectly - 4 children and 2 adults. The owners are extremely friendly, and will go the extra mile to ensure you everything you need for your holiday. The setting is in a lovely village location, away from tourist spots but close enough to beaches, towns and amenities by car. Completely recommend this cottage!
