- Very Good
We had a lovely time at Lease Cottage, the house is lovely and was very suitable for our party; two families with dogs and children. We really enjoyed using the communal areas, the kitchen and dining rooms are ideal for feeding the troops and the sitting room is cosy and comfortable. The house is very dog friendly, the barn doors came in handy when trying to keep our greedy Labrador out of the kitchen! We'd recommend the cottage, it may not be suitable for someone who isn't steady on their feet as there are some steep and rather slippery steps at the back entrance, although this could be potentially avoided. Ben was very friendly, left us a lovely gift on arrival and called to check that we were settled. Lovely village but a lot of narrow lanes so you need pretty good driving skills! Great holiday ;)
Owner's reply: Thank you for a lovely review. Great to have guests like you.
Great cottage with assess to loads of places .very comfortable place to stay. Having the two sleeping areas is great for kid. The owners were very helpful.
“Lovely, comfortable and cosy cottage”
We had a lovely stay at Lease Cottage. We thought it a most charming cottage and we loved the Aga. We were cosy and comfortable with everything we could possibly want and we hope to return.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely review. I'm really pleased you enjoyed your stay, and look forward to welcoming you back in Blisland.
“We couldn't have chosen a better place to spend our time in Cornwall.”
Five of us, all artists and older ladies, decided to spend time in Cornwall because it is such a beautiful place: pastoral fields, high moors, quaint towns and coastal villages. Ben Wood's cottage in Blisland was perfect. He's obviously spared no expense to make his guests comfortable and welcomed. The cottage was spacious, with a great sun room, kitchen and sitting room - not to mention the convenient laundry room. The beds were comfortable, internet convenient, and we were close to a great pub and village green. The countryside all around the cottage and town was magnificent, and the people all friendly and welcoming. One caution: The roads are narrow, with high hedges that camoflage stone walls!! Charming, but somewhat difficult to navigate (until we got used to them!)I don't hesitate to recommend the cottage to anyone considering a pastoral holiday in Cornwall. And, while we didn't have any dogs, the dog run was obviously created by a dog-lover. Nice and long, with plenty of room to romp and play. Ben also made himself very accessible the couple of times we needed questions answered. It's altogether a super place.
“Total relaxation in a beautiful cottage”
I stayed at Lease Cottage in Blisland with my husband, 6 year old daughter and our 3 dogs( 1 Jack Russell and 2 English Setters) From first enquiring about staying at Lease Cottage, the service from Ben was fantastic. The cottage itself is beautiful, we felt instantly at home. Set in a very quiet lane, perfect for total relaxation. The quality of everything is of a very high standard, including the bedding and towels. Everything is thought of, even games and books. We could not fault the cleanliness of it either. The gardens are very private and secure, and the dog run is a god send. The village of Blisland is lovely and we found the locals very friendly and helpful. We went to the local pub The Blisland Inn a few times and we did have a meal , which was great and there was plenty of it! also child and dog friendly. Some lovely country walks around Blisland too. The beaches which are only a short car drive are stunning, our daughter and our dogs loved it We absolutely loved our stay at Lease Cottage and were really sad to leave, but most definitely booking up again for next year.
“A lovely dog friendly cottage in quiet village location with enclosed, secluded gardens”
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful week in Lease Cottage, as did our two English Setter dogs. The spacious accommodation was excellent with a high standard of cleanliness. The enclosed and secluded garden was great for the two dogs as they could play safely and was also a perfect suntrap for us to relax in the evenings. Overall, a great base with easy access to beaches, plenty of moorland walks direct from the door and a lovely village pub ( CAMRA awards) just two minutes walk from the cottage. My wife and I (and dogs) would highly recommend a stay at Lease Cottage and we've booked another visit in September.
“A 'Blisful' holiday, particularly if you're dog lovers”
We, along with our dogs, have been going to Lease Cottage for many years; a lovely peaceful setting in Blisland, which has easy access to a good village shop with internet facility, CAMRA pub and church. Secluded gardens with a great 'run' at the back of the house for dogs. Easy access to beaches and walks on both the north and south coasts. Continuous improvements by initially Jenny and now Ben, keep it on top form. Not too good for the elderly or infirm, particularly the steps at the back of the house can be a bit tricky especially in wet weather.
