“Lovely but could be better”

Reviewed 17 Jan 2017

we were very impressed with the quirks and it has a lovely feel about it, we would go back again but there are improvements to be made as it feels like its been let go a bit.... great place for the weekend for a couple, a week would have been too long for us as no where to put food or clothes - fridge is a compromise (its one for a caravan i think) so stores very little and does not get very cold - would be good to have the garden route sign posted rather than having to forage around in neighbours gardens - the cottage could be cleaner, in real need of a deep clean as i dont feel it was cleaned in any depth. hairs in the bathroom on the floor etc - had to wash up glasses as dirt left in corners (square glasses not me losing my mind) - carpets could do with a good going over - was cold as main heating is storage heaters - great excuse to have a fire though! - we parked on the road or the free car park at the top of the village, not clear how to pay for car park opposite tho perhaps they wouldnt have worried in low season. details say £3 a day but the legion is £5 a day with a £3 car park a fe 100 yds down - cottage is tucked away and very quiet - the double bed.... well mattress is comfy (some odd stains on the duvet) but beware if you even so much as turn over. its creaks like nothing else - surely this needs sorting - bulb in bed room bedside table not working - batteries only in tv remote - free wi fi - confusing when you have to leave by - says 1000 on booking site but 0930 when you arrive - tea towels provided - bedding provided for a pp fee all in all with a bit of extra elbow grease and some attention to detail this cottage could shine. we would go back though and just keep the eyes closed when looking into corners!!!

“Perfect Cottage”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2013

Stayed last year in Hollyhocks with my family and we all loved it and are going back again this year. It has all the charm of a country cottage, but has been renovated to include everything you would want. Every detail has been thought about. Thoroughly deserves it's four star rating and I've stayed in a few cottages. Very clean and just what we needed for a lovely holiday. Thank you

“Amazing cottage to stay”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2013

This is one of the best cottages I've stayed in. Spotlessly clean, I couldn't fault it, spick and span. I'm booking again. Very central and just a short walk to amenities, it has been renovated with flair and consideration to the age of the property, but very creatively. It is lovely to be in Blakeney High street, but within an old walled garden and those Hollyhocks! Would not hesitate to recommend to friends

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your kind review.
