Strathclare House is situated in the picturesque Perthshire village of Kirkmichael located 12 miles from Pitlochry and Blairgowrie. A little further north takes you to the ski slopes of Glenshee and onto Royal Deeside or upto Aviemore and the Cairngorms.
This spacious detached holiday home sits in a secluded garden with an acre of grassland with a river at the bottom of the garden.
The house is within easy walking distance of the village pub, restaurant and well-stocked community shop.
The main feature is the large open plan living area consisting of lounge (with a cosy log burning stove), dining and kitchen which allows everybody to feel part of the group. It sleeps up to 8 people and has 3 double bedrooms with en-suites and a twin bedroom with adjoining shower room.
Strathclare House is the perfect destination for groups of friends or families to relax, explore or take part in outdoor activities such as fishing, walking, cycling, skiing and hiking.
We are pet friendly and take upto 2 well behaved dogs.

Fantastic holiday in this beautiful home lovely meet and greet from owners on our arrival.Everyrhing you need was there couldn’t ask for more ...grandkids loved the big garden and the river at the bottom of garden ..rooms were beautiful and spacious lovely village everyone friendly...loved every minute of our holiday ...thank you .

“We are loving it. . . . Can we please move in!! ”
We are part way through our stay and we love it here. No need for photos or long explanations, this house is exactly as it says on the tin with cherries on top!! Beds are so comfy, the whole place is spotless and home furnishings are to a high standard, I love the fluffy towels!! Brilliant service and welcome from Kim and kenny. The house is well equipped, there is no need to leave, there is everything you could ever need. I think we have used every pot and serving dish enjoying some lovely family meals and some well needed chill out time. We got a lovely welcome hamper, puma our black lab and the kids really enjoyed their treats, as did us adults! Thank you!! The garden is magnificent and worthy of exploring every morning. I am going to miss the view from the downstairs bedroom! The rabbits come right up to the house and it is so relaxing just sitting watching the river. Just what we needed.

“Beauty and peace personified, fantastic place”
The location is a perfect place to explore the delights that Scotland has to offer, great wildlife to experience which include Deer, red squirrels, many beautiful birds, Ospray and Peregrine falcoln. Strathclare House made it all that makes a holiday special, excellent quality furnishings, spotlessly clean and truly a perfect home from home place that you find hard to leave. From the moment of booking this house the owners Kenny & Kim provide a fantastic customer experience, giving us detailed information and knowledge of the surrounding area etc, they were there to meet us on our arrival along with an introduction to their lovely spaniel Fergus, the house was so well equipt and had lots of additional unexpected extras, washing powder, dishwasher tablets, we were left a lovely welcome hamper too, everything was so well thought through and all our needs catered for. The garden is also beautiful and full of activity with the many birds that visit, we loved watching them from the conservatory. This is a great house with the owners running a complete customer centric business, no wonder the feedback ratings are constantly excellent, they are very well deserved.

Everything you would want in a home from home, stayed with 7 friends in this beautiful well arranged accommodation, great rooms, plenty of storage space for clothing etc. Information on equipment and local services very good, home owners met us on arrival left us a very nice welcome pack and assured us that we could contact them anytime in case of any queries we might have. Enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the house and would go back again.
“Exceptional holiday property, great location for touring”
We were a group of 8. Accommodation amenities are always important to us on our walking holidays and with this house we had 4 excellent rooms all with private facilities (a bonus). The rest of the house had everything we needed, WIFI, space, luxury amenities, clean and definitely well kitted out. We could not have asked for more with the property. We particularly liked the luxury of the fabulous modern spacious dining kitchen with all the crockery/cutlery and gadgets you could ever wish to use. A great welcome gift from the hosts also went down a treat (thank you). We would have no hesitation in recommending this property. Really close to lots of tourist attractions within beautiful Perthshire. Great local at the Strathardle Inn a short trip out the village, we can certainly recommend that also.
“All round good place to stay with family or friends.”
Good modern accommodation, very clean and comfortable with plenty of space and good facilities for eight people. Although quiet the village of Kirkmichael has a good pub and hotel and a well stocked, friendly village store/cafe. Also the house is situated in a good location for exploring lots of interesting places such as Pitlochrie, Killiecrankie and Braemar. We enjoyed our stay at Strathclare House very much.
“wonderful spring break”
We stayed at Strathclare House in March and had an amazing holiday. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need. We took some things with us ie kitchen utensils as so many other holiday homes lack the basics but we didn't need them. The garden is huge and having the river Ardle at the bottom of the garden was stunning! There are some lovely walks near the house. The cataran trail for one. In Pitlochry we visited Killicrankie which is so worthwhile. The scenery is wonderful. The Hermitage at Dunkeld is so enjoyable despite visiting there several times! The walk to the Black Spout starting at Moulin was also a great walk with stunning views. Five minutes walk from the house is Stathardle Inn which serves lovely bar meals and you can take the dog which was really good. The Kirkmichael Hotel is 2 minutes walk away and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back to Strathclare House hopefully in the summer! Thank you Kenny and Kim!
