Cameron Lodge is a 3 bedroom, spacious and light, lodge in the Cairngorm National park with large veranda overlooking the River Tilt. The lodge sleeps 6 with a family bathroom and en suite shower room. It has an open plan living-dining room leading out onto a large veranda overlooking the river. On site private pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym as well as a country kitchen restaurant. Surrounded by beautiful scenery in the heart of historic Scotland. Close to Blair Castle and Pitlochry.

Double room - en suite shower room, 2 oak wardrobes, 2 oak bedside cabinets, oak dresser.

Bunk room - built in wardrobe, 2 oak sets of drawers.

Twin room - built in wardrobe, oak drawers,

Kitchen - fitted kitchen with built in cooker and hob, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and new and contemporary dining ware.

Bathroom - bath with handshower, wc, basin and storage, children's toliet seat and step

The lodge is spacious and has ample storage, electric heating, fireplace for those cosy winter nights or apres ski! A large balcony which overlooks the river makes this a perfect place for outdoor dining or just relaxing to the sounds of the river and birdsong. In autumn, salmon can be seen leaping!

FACILITIES

The on site pool and leisure facilities are available to guests from April to October and are pay on use. The Loft, a counrtry kitchen retaurant is next to the pool and serves good quality food throughout the year. It also has a large balcony for outside dining and children and families are very welcome. A shop is on the edge of park where most things can be purchased and fresh fish are delivered twice a week.

The park is secured by electric gates and on site friendly staff are awlays available to help. There is an office, laundrette, an aviary with birds and guniea pigs, as well as direct access to a pebbly beach under the train bridge! The park is environmentally sympathetic and is a truly beautiful place to stay. It will appeal to all sorts of folk, including lovers of the outdoors, nature, history, families, groups, golfers, ski-ers, water sports fans, visitors of villages, cafe's and small shops, or those just wanting to do nothing but relax and soak up the beauty of Scotland at it's best!

THINGS TO DO

-Direct acccess to a pebbly beach on the river just under the train bridge

-10 minute walk to Blair Castle - 700 years of Scottish history, guided tours, red deer park, restaurant, adventure playground and annual estate events including horse trials, gaming and sports.

-10 miniute walk to Blair Atholl village - visitor centre, cafe, museum, train station, shop, bike hire

-7 miles to Pitlochry - a traditional Scots Baronial town with lots to see and do including river walks, a theatre and arts festival, galleries, shopping and award winning bakery,

-3 miles to Killerckankie - the first Jacobite shots were fired here! A great place for re-enactment enthusiasts and those interested in military history

-Golf - a 9 hole course is directly accesible from the park or for those wishing to rub shoulders with the more famous sports people, Gleneagles is just under an hour away.

-45 mins to ski-ing at The Spittle of Glen Shee, 1 hour to Aviemore

-30 mins to white water rafting and water sports at Aberfeldy, River Tay and Loch Tay

-30 mins to Highland Safari and The Red Deer Centre- Aberfeldy

-Birnam and Dunkeld - for famous Shakesperean woods and The Beatrix Potter Museum (really lovely for children with hands on play in the exhibition and a garden full of characters!) Arts and exhibition centre, restaurants, cafes

-10 minutes to the nearest distillery although there are many in the area to choose from! Most are open througout the year for tours and tasting.

GETTING AROUND

Nearest station - Blair Atholl for direct services to Perth for connections to Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Local bus services. Please ask on site.

CHILDREN

It can be stresfull travelling with children so we try to make them welcome with a child friendly place to stay. A high chair, travel cot, books, games DVD's and toys are provided as well as plastic plates and cutlery, a children's loo seat and bathroom step.

A shop is on the edge of the GUEST ACCESS

Keys can be obtained from the office upon arrival. Guests will have full access to the park and facilities.

PETS

Well behaved dogs welcome. Dogs must be kept on a lead on the park and all mess cleaned up.
