Sea Turtle is located on Brighton Beach, 2 miles north of Bridgetown (city centre and main fish market) and 3.5 miles south of Sandy Lane Hotel. Kensington Oval is walking distance and, being 4.5 miles from both Holetown and St Lawrence, the beach house is equidistant between both the major tourist/nightlife areas on the island. Some of the islands best bars and restaurants (CinCin, The Cliff, Daphne's & Scarlett's) are all less than a 5 minute drive north. There is a large modern supermarket only 600m away, and from there cheap local buses can be caught either up the West Coast or, via Bridgetown, to anywhere on the island.
Being located on Brighton Beach at the south end of the Platinum Coast of Barbados, Sea Turtle has direct access onto the sand and uninterrupted views of the Caribbean Sea.
Built in the 1960's this spacious 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom bungalow is set in a quarter of an acre of mature gardens and underwent a full refurbishment in November 2011 (including new soft and hard furnishings throughout). A 500sq ft sundeck and a pool were added in November 2012. Situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood two miles north of the city centre the house feels very private and is ideal for groups or families wanting an exclusive hassle free beach experience or for intimate "honeymooning" couples.
The Master and second bedrooms are both "en-suite". The Master has a "California King-size" bed and the second and third rooms can be configured as either "Large Double", "Twins" or three singles. There is a sofabed in the lobby between the main lounge and kitchen which can share the "family bathroom" next to the third bedroom and, though designed to sleep 6, there are beds for up to 10 guests should this be required (in exceptional circumstances). The house is child friendly and there is a baby cot/crib available if required.
In additional to the kitchen, laundry, and the lobby, the living area comprises of an internal 18' x 28' lounge with giant TV, an external 30' x 12' covered dining area with seating for 8 and 15' x 30' canopied wooden sundeck with loungers and barbecue, leading onto a 30' x 15' sundeck with outdoor pool. There is also a porch to the roadside, with seating, where you can catch the early morning sun.
There is a daily maid service to make up the rooms, do all the cleaning, washing-up and all laundry. A cook can be arranged, at additional cost, if required.
The house is:

The master bedroom has a California King bed and en-suite.
Bedroom 2 has an en-suite and can be configured as a double bed, twin beds or up to 3 singles.
Bedroom 3 can also be configured as a double bed, twin beds or up to 3 singles and shares a family bathroom with the rest of the house.
All bedrooms have ceiling fans, air-conditioning, fly-screening, burglar bars and digital safes.
The kitchen features a fridge, dishwasher, double oven, toaster oven and microwave. There is a breakfast table with seating for 4 and the laundry has a tub washing machine, sink and tumble drier.
The lounge has seating for 10, a wall mounted TV, DVD and CD players and is linked to the outside dining area by a 15ft sliding door, and has sea views.

The dining area is covered with a solid roof, but is entirely open on the beach side and leads directly onto the canopied sun-deck. It has a large glass dining table and seating for 8.
The Sun-deck has two settees, two sun loungers and a barbeque, and the decking is extended with a swimming pool set into the side of it . Sea Turtle is set in quarter of an acre of mature gardens with mature trees for shade on the beach side, with sun loungers and a sandy area inside the property's fence for private sunbathing. On the road side, it is mainly set to parking with room for 6 vehicles. There is a lockable gate that leads directly onto the beach and two external showers.
Two kayaks are available for use - please ask the House Manager or Housekeeper for details.
Rates quoted are for up to 6 people but the house will sleep a maximum of 8 people.
The Saint Michael Parish region
Sea Turtle is located on Brighton Beach, 2.5 miles North of Bridgetown and 3.5 miles South of Sandy Lane. Kensington Oval is walking distance and, being 4.5 miles from both Holetown and St Lawrence, the beach-house is equidistant between both the major restaurant and nightlife areas on the island.
Watersports are available to the north of the beach and there is a beach bar/restaurant 200 yards south.

"Paradies does exist and its in Barbados...!"
Four of us rented Sea Turtle for a bit of pre-Christmas sunshine and it was fantastic. The bungalow has clearly been refurbished to a high standard along with the grace of air con in all the bedrooms. The outside covered seating was perfect for eating and relaxing. Food was easy with a big supermarket just up the road and, as the owners said they would be, our concerns about “no pool” were unfounded. Who indeed needs a pool when the beach (which hardly had any people on it) backs onto the garden and the water is so calm, and so warm. We will definitely be back!
