BISHOPS TAWTON THE COACH HOUSE OVERVIEW

Located on the outskirts of the charming riverside village of Bishops Tawton, THE COACH HOUSE enjoys wonderful, elevated countryside views. A large property full of character, with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, and a lovely kitchen with dining area. A games room with billiard table is shared with two other cottages - THE COACH HOUSE COTTAGE and THE LODGE.

There are numerous country walks from the doorstep, or jump in the car and reach the nearest beach in just 15 minutes! A walk up Codden Hill (adjacent to Coach House Cottage) is a must. Choose either the tough uphill routes for the energetic or the gentler paths for the not so energetic. Either way, you will reach the monument at the highest point with the most breath taking views stretching for miles. Or walk down to the village, approx 1.8 miles, for a drink or a meal at The Chichester Arms pub.

THE COACH HOUSE can be booked in conjunction with THE COACH HOUSE COTTAGE (adjacent), a 1 bedroom cottage, to sleep 12 people in 6 bedrooms.

LIVING AREAS

There are two living areas in THE COACH HOUSE. The main living room is a large room upstairs, seating 10 people easily on three sofas and four easy chairs. This room enjoys wonderful countryside views. Home entertainment includes a flatscreen television with Freeview, DVD player, books, games, as well as inclusive WiFi internet access.

The second living room is a smaller cosy living room downstairs next to the kitchen.

KITCHEN

Large country kitchen with tiled floor, marble worktops and a dining area with exposed stonework. Appliances include a double oven, electric hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, as well as an excellent selection of pots, pans cutlery and crockery (including children's). The dining table can seat 10 people, and a high chair is provided.

A utility room houses the washing machine.

BEDROOMS

Bedroom 1: Double bedroom with super king size bed that can be unzipped to form twin beds upon request.

Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom

Bedroom 3: Bunk bedroom

Bedroom 4: Double bedroom with king size bed with en suite bathroom.

Bedroom 5: Double bedroom with king size bed with en suite bathroom.

Bedrooms 1, 2 & 3 form a suite, sharing Bathroom 1, which is accessed through bedroom 2.

BATHROOMS

Bathroom 1: Family bathroom with bath, shower overhead, WC and wash basin.

Bathroom 2: En suite bathroom to Bedroom 4, with bath, shower over, WC and wash basin.

Bathroom 3: En suite bathroom to Bedroom 5, with bath, shower over, WC and wash basin.

Bath towels are kindly provided.

OUTDOORS

A fantastic facility is the shared games room with full size billiard table and table tennis. This is in a separate building and shared with two other cottages.

The property is set amongst 12 acres of land, most of which has free access. There is covered patio area with outdoor dining table and chairs, and a large lawn with lawn games for summer days, including a badminton net.

Spend time exploring the beautiful countryside on your doorstep, with unrivalled rural views of the Taw Valley and beyond. Horses graze in the fields, and if you visit in Spring the rapeseed fields are a glorious blanket of yellow.

Located on the rise of Codden Hill, the monument at the summit is just a 15-20 minute walk away, and well worth the effort for the views! You can see for miles in every direction, to the coast, Lundy Island and Exmoor National Park.

There is plenty of off-road parking space in the designated car park, for up to 10 cars.
