“Amazing Break”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2013

Excellent lodge in a peaceful setting on the edge of a small village which has a pub and small village shop, within easy reach of York and North East Coast. The lodge was fully equipped with everything you could want. On arrival there was a bottle of milk in the fridge and dishwasher tablets, a small brochure with details of all the local amenities, it seemed everything that you would want or need was thought of and included. Overall it was fantastic and I would thoroughly recommend this as a good place to take a break.

“The Best Self-Catering Holiday Ever, Thanks Ruth.”

If you are looking for a peaceful tranquil holiday well here it is...... This amazing lodge has everything you could ever need from a fully equipped kitchen to two lovely en-suit bathrooms. As soon as we arrived it felt like home we were really pleased to find that everything was spotless and I mean spotless. Ruth I think your cleaners deserve a bonus it was that clean. from the picture on the site you can tell that everything is well looked after it's a credit to you. The little village has a special feel about it and if you like walking well it's heaven. we really enjoyed our stay and we will be returning next year for sure. If I had to be picky the only down side to this Lodge was the lack of WIFI, but now seeing the location I can see why it could be a bit of a problem. All I can say is thanks again Ruth see you next year.

Thanks so much for your kind comments, I will pass them on to our fantastic team. Yes I agree with regards to Wi-Fi. We have looked in to installing it, hopefully it should be available in the lodges very soon, watch this space...:) We look forward to welcoming you back next year.

“A beautiful and welcoming lodge in a peaceful and relaxing setting”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2013

We booked this weekend break for my birthday, we wanted to be near York but not in a hotel. Myself, my husband and our children (aged 6 and 3), really enjoyed our stay at Deep Dale Lodge. The accommodation was fantastic and the setting was beautiful and just a short drive to visit York. Our children loved having their own en-suite bathroom and they enjoyed playing outside-the pony in the field nearby was a particular highlight for my daughter. I have already recommended this lodge to family and friends and as a family we hope to be able to visit again soon.

Thank you.

“An excellent holiday let, would love to be there again”

I must say that Ruth Rowlands and her family made our stay at deepdale very comfortable and rather special. On arrival we were surprised with a christmas tree and decorations which thrilled my 6 year old grandson. On unpacking we found we had a welcome tray with tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits, and a bottle of milk in the fridge to get us started. We had packed the usual teacloths, washing liquids etc, but these also are provided along with dishwahser tablets and cleaning products. In our rooms we had a hairdryer which we had also packed , all in all we had the kind of welcome pack you would expect in a 3 or 4* holiday hotel. The setting of the cabins is down a lane at the end of the village, but do not let this put you off the setting is peaceful and beautiful, and if you wish to have a meal out in the evening it is only a 10 minute stroll to the local watering hole which has excellent meals. The only thing I would request is that perhaps double sized duvets could be provided in the twin bedroom as if you are an adult using these the single ones do not wrap around you, (but this is only a suggestion). Keep up the good work Ruth and co, we had an excellent holiday, and a warm and welcoming return at the end of our busy days in York and surrounding areas, many thanks...

“An idyllic retreat in a beautiful setting”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2012

The lodge far exceeded our expectations and provided us with a perfect base from which to travel to York and Whitby. We wanted a relaxing holiday and the setting enabled us to enjoy local walks and sit out on a lovely decked area with very comfortable garden furniture. The lodge was very well equipped with everything we needed and was extremely clean and well presented. We have already booked for 2013 and recommended it to several friends.

Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed your stay. all the best, Ruth

“FANTASTIC LOCATION, WONDERFUL CABIN”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2012

Having previously stayed at Millpond Lodge on the other side of the road, we were very interested when the owners contacted us about their new development- Wolds Edge. We were delighted with Deep Dale Lodge, it has everything that you you would find at home, the only thing with the bedrooms is that fans may need to be provided in the summer months, as you cannot leave the french doors open at night.

“Pefect lodge, Perfect setting and Perfect break”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2012

We found the lodge to be in a perfect location within a short drive to York. The accomodation was perfectly clean and tidy and extremely well laid out. We visited as a couple but it would be perfect to take children or another couple as the lodge was very spacious. The Fleece Inn in the village served the most wonderfull food and the staff were very welcoming. We even spent a few evenings in there just having a couple of drinks. The weather was terrible whilst we were there, but we have a fantastic break. Perfect for relaxing and walking.

“Immaculately presented and maintained 5 star lodge in perfect location.”
