Description from owner

Description

Situated in one of Birmingham's most lively and vibrant quarters, Latitude is an ideal location to explore the UK's second city. If you're looking for a haven of peace and tranquility then this is not the best address due to the local bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity but if you're after a lively, vibrant and fun location to explore a fantastic city then look no further!

The property has an open plan lounge kitchen/diner with duel aspect double glazed doors opening onto Juliette balconies. 2 bedrooms (travel cot available upon request), each with a double bed, wardrobe and Juliette balcony, a family bathroom and entrance hallway. The development has a secure entry system and there is a private landscaped communal garden area where smoking is permitted.

Set in the heart of the Gay / Chinese / Theatre / Arcadian districts you'll be hard pushed not to find something to your liking. Only a 10 min walk from New Street Station and the world famous Bullring.

Set in the heart of the Gay / Chinese / Theatre / Arcadian districts you'll be hard pushed not to find something to your liking. Only a 10 min walk from New Street Station and the world famous Bullring.

Latitude is ideal for those shopaholics amongst you, with the iconic modern architecture of Selfridges, the Great Western Arcade and the imposing The Mailbox there is something for everyone. For the bargain hunters it is essential to visit the Flea, Rag and Indoor Markets and make a visit to the Custard Factory.

By day explore the city, once reputed to having a 1000 trades, and visit the historic and fascinating Jewellery Quarter. Take a leisurely stroll along the historical canal network with plenty of places to rest and have a coffee or dine.

For those looking for a cultural visit then Birmingham offers a plethora of venues and Latitude is in no better location, you are just over a 1 min walk to one of the country's biggest and best theatres - The Birmingham Hippodrome, home to the Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Dance Exchange. A short distance from the Hippodrome are other gems, The New Alexandra Theatre and two of the UK's best kept secret's - The Old Rep (the UK's first purpose built Repertory Theatre, built by Sir Barry Jackson) and The Electric, the UK's oldest working cinema (now home to sofas, a bar and waiter service. With two digital screens showing a mixture of the latest quality mainstream, independent, foreign and classic films). Take time to visit the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, the Town Hall and also the National Trust's Back to Back Houses next door to the Hippodrome. A carefully restored, atmospheric 19th-century courtyard of working people's houses offering a glimpse into the lives of the ordinary people who helped make Birmingham . It's a fascinating guided tour of Birmingham's last surviving court of back to backs; houses built literally back-to-back around a communal courtyard.

Gastronomes, well what can we say... Brum has it all - don't believe us? Birmingham ranked in the New York Times top 20 of places to visit for it's culinary prowess in 2012. Grab your knives, forks, chopsticks and spoons and get ready to explore food heaven! You can experience all the flavours of the world in one city, from fine dining chefs including Glynn Purnell and Marco Pierre White's Steak House to the Balti. Every flavour is on your doorstep!

Music lovers - with the Barclaycard Arena, Genting Arena and O2 Academy, plus hundreds of smaller venues your musical tastes are more than catered for and don't forget Birmingham hosts a Jazz and Soul Festival every year.

Nightlife - you can't be any closer! The fabulous Gay Village is outside your window as the apartment is located on the main drag (excuse the pun!) of Hurst Street. Bars, clubs, restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes. A friendly welcome to everyone no matter whether you're gay, straight or bi. A short 2 min walk and you'll reach the Arcadian another oasis of bars and restaurants. For those with a clubbing disposition then grab a cab or walk to Gatecrasher situated in the main entertainment zone of Broad Street. The Mailbox, behind Broad St and along the canal network, is another social must visit. Cocktail lovers, we recommend you try the Island Bar which is next door to The New Alexander Theatre - a down to earth bar with a mighty fine drinks menu or for a more relaxed atmosphere visit the Dubella Lounge on the Boardwalk at the Barclaycard Arena - a hidden gem in the city centre and probably the cheapest drinks for it's location. If you're after a more independently brewed pint then Brewdog is essential and is just around the corner from the Island Bar on John Bright Street.

Sport... well we're only a 5min taxi ride from Edgbaston cricket ground, St Andrew's football stadium can be seen from the window and one of the oldest football clubs, Aston Villa is a short hop away by train. It's also a fantastic place to stay if you're taking part in the annual Half Marathon or attend the annual Indoor Athletics season at the newly refurbished Barclaycard Arena.

We could go on... Birmingham has reinvented itself and is now becoming internationally recognised as a City Break desitnation. We guarantee one night won't be enough and we look forward to welcoming you to Latitude.

Free Parking not available but there are car parks next to the apartment that cost only £3.70 for 24hrs.
