“Lovely, comfortable venue for a weekend away from it all”

Reviewed 3 Nov 2015

Just fantastic venue, spotlessly clean, well thought out interior and facilities- extra touches such as dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid just make life so easy for a quick weekend away when you don't want to take loads of stuff. Birchover is a quaint little village; good access to pubs and plenty of walks meant we didn't need the car much. We loved this cottage, it was cosy and warm watching the woodburner on an evening whilst the wifi and TV kept the teenagers happy - would definitely consider booking again.

“Absolutely beautiful, clean, cosy property”

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at this delightful, clean, cosy property. Great location to explore the area. Monsal bike trail is a must! We ran out of time to do everything we wanted to do so will have to come back!

“The Cottage was so perfect”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2015

This trip was the first time my folks had visited The Peak District, I knew I wanted to be close to Bakewell, this cottage was in a perfect location for everything we did- only 10mins by car to Bakewell. The property was surprisingly big compared to the photos. The owners had thought of absolutely everything, I have personally stayed in a few cottages in The Peaks and I think I can say this one is my favourite so far- I even recommended it to a friend whist we were on our holidays. The property has a cute little courtyard garden which was perfect for my dog Troy (he loved his stay too). Even though the property is on the main road in Birchover you won't hear a sole, it's such a peaceful village with two local pubs, we went to The Red Lion for a lovely home cooked dinner (it was dog friendly too). I really would recommend this property as it exceed my expectations. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

“Great Cottage with everything you could need”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2015

We had an absolutely fantastic weekend break with our two dogs at Cobblers cottage. The cottage had every item that we could imagine and more. The hosts have done as much as they possibly could prior to our arrival, this included preparing a fire that only neede lit and leaving a pint of milk in the fridge. The cottage was immaculate on arrival and it took a very short period for the heating to make it warm. There are many nice touches such as ordnance survey maps, Wi-Fi, DVD players, books and many other items. We have two young dogs and having the gated courtyard was an absolute bonus. This meant that when we came back from walks we could leave the dogs outside until they were dry and they were safe in this area. Should we be back in this area then we will definitely try to book the cottage again.

“Lovely”

Couldn't fault this cottage in anyway. Very well equipt with modern appliances an WIFI. ideal setting for discovering the beautiful Peek District. When we come back will definitely try to stay here again.

“Lovely cottage”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2015

This is a lovely mix of an old cottage with modern facilities. It has a good quality up-to-date kitchen with all the utensils and crockery etc that you require. I noticed that there are even corn on the cob holders in the drawer. The beds are very comfortable and there is good quality tasteful bedding. There's a nice big shower and even a small en-suite toilet and basin in the twin room. The towels provided are also of good quality. The owners have really not scrimped on anything. The village of Birchover is a good base for visits to Bakewell and Chatsworth House and there are numerous walks within half an hours drive away. We did walks at Froggett Edge, Dovedale and Monsal Dale. We really enjoyed our stay.

“Cozy Cottage”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2015

We enjoyed our stay in this unique cottage in the Peaks District. It is steeped in history and is cozy and comfortable with a lovely, updated kitchen, a nice (but small) shower, comfortable beds, and a fireplace with good wood. Charlotte has done a beautiful job of providing information, appliance manuals, and even a phone to use to reach her if necessary. The garden is beautiful, and there is a private parking space, which is a little tight if your car is large. It is just a few doors down from the Red Lion pub, where we had some good meals. Good stay!

“Everything you need for a peaceful stay in the Peaks.”

I stayed at Cobblers cottage with my husband and 6 year old daughter for 3 nights in May. We found to cottage to be extremely clean with lovely decor and a very cosy feel. The owners have thought of everything you could need including a welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits and milk and a very well equipped kitchen. The bathrooms were both spotless and fitted with modern, new looking suites. The village is very small with two pubs but no shops. It was bank holiday weekend when we went and both the pubs were quite busy, if we went again and we wanted to eat there we would book. We found some other nice pubs with good food further afield, one was called the Grouse and Claret which I would recommend, nice pub style food with a good kids menu. The cottage is in a great location for the peaks, we had trips out to Bakewell, Matlock (Abraham Heights in Matlock was great), Hardwick Hall (which was a lovely day out) and Alton Towers. The owners were on their mobiles and contactable throughout if we had any questions. All in all it was an excellent stay and we would definately recommend it. Thanks Charlotte.

“Wow - Just Perfect!!”

Reviewed 5 May 2015

Myself, my wife and our 2 children stayed over the Bank Holiday weekend for 3 nights. We have stayed in many places and this has to be one of the best. Well set out, plenty of thought has gone into the lay out of this cottage. Very clean and modern but keeps that 'oldy worldy' feel also. You have everything you need on hand. The owners are great and always replied to my Emails promptly. The village has two lovely pubs. We will be staying again thats for sure :-)

“Everything you could want for a relaxing country cottage getaway”

Reviewed 1 May 2015

I can't rate this cottage highly enough. Even before we arrived, I had regular contact from the owners who provided detailed instructions of how to get there, all relevant information about facilities provided, and it was made very clear they were happy to help and were willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had a great holiday. They even called during our stay to check all was well and we had no issues. The cottage itself was beautiful, a perfect mix of cosy but modern, extremely well equipped with everything we could possibly need. Even small details like good quality crockery and kitchenware made it feel the owners really put the effort into providing a high quality experience. The cottage is situated in a peaceful but beautiful village, with good pubs a short walk away, and easy to get to matlock/bakewell/chatsworth a short drive. We will definitely stay here again. We
