Quick Description

All local amenities are nearby and easily accessible by foot. If you turn left out of the front door to the top of the road, you will see the leisure centre with gym and swimming pool and fun for the kids in the holidays. Turning right will take you to the shops, restaurants and public transport just a few minutes away. A short bus or train ride to Nottingham runs frequently from the Market Square.

Main Description

My little cottage is 200 years old and would have once been the gardeners cottage, so alas no garden of its own. There is however , a sunny south facing terrace in the front to sit out . It is full of character but quite SMALL with low doors and oak beamed ceilings. It is one of the original '2 up, 2 downs' f rom the 1800's and in recent years was modernised and a toilet/shower room added. It has been decorated and furnished in keeping with the period complete with antique furniture, so please do not expect big sumptious sofas . We are restricted by space and aesthetics and want you to enjoy the full experience of history in the ambiance. The kitchen is in Victorian style complete with a butler sink. It is just big enough for 4 to eat round the table. The newly renovated bathroom is merging Victorian into Art Deco in striking black and white. The living room is cosy, especially when the log fire is blazing away in the grate. To bring us into the 21st century, we can however boast super fast broadband wifi. Situated in a little no-thru road literally just off the main centre and market square of Bingham, it is quiet but a great base for the local shops and easy access to Nottingham. Fine for up to 4 people (max )! Suitable for children age 5 and over. Small pet dog considered. The cottage is just a 20 minute drive or bus ride away from legendry Nottingham ( Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest etc). On foot the centre of Bingham is just 3 minutes walk with all facilities including a library and doctor's surgery. There are supermarkets (late opening), hairdressers, florists, banks, bakers and butchers and many restaurants and of course superb Fish and Chips! At the top of the road is a Leisure centre with swimming pool. On Thursdays there is a market in the square. Bingham is rurally situated amongst fields and small villages. There is free parking outside the cottage - its never been problem to find space as usually only residents use the road.

There is a walled garden attached to the cottage but it is privately owned and not for use by the owner or guests. Lovely to look over from the side window.

“The most well equip cottage I have ever stayed in.”

The location of the cottage was about 100 metres from the town centre. There was everything you could possibly need, from shops, take-always (every food type you could wish for), pubs with real ale. The cottage was old (about over 200 years) the kitchen was new but done in an old style, washer/dryer, full cooker, fridge freezer and microwave. It was so well equipt. The bedrooms were amazingly large and the beds were so comfortable. The bathroom, small but perfectly formed. The Art Deco chairs in the sitting room were just lovely, we are antique freaks so they were a real treat. The only down side was there wasn’t enough comfortable seating for 4 of us. We were on holiday so that didn’t matter too much. We would certainly go again!

“Delightful cosy comfortable cottage”

This is now our third stay in this delightful cottage. It is so clean and cosy and comfortable, we just keep coming back. All my family commented on how lovely it is to stay in. It’s 2 minutes walk from the centre of Bingham with excellent shops and restaurants. There are buses every few minutes to Nottingham, and a railway station, and of course easy parking in the quiet road directly outside the front door. It’s lovely to have linen and towels provided and for the fuel to be inclusive – it makes it so much easier. Booking and paying was easy, and both owner and caretaker are easily contactable.

“long weekend in bingham”

The cottage is ideally situated for the shops and pub/resturants. Public transport links are extremely good, the town even has a railway station, buses run into Nottingham every 15 minutes. The cottage is pleasant and comfortable for upto 4 people in a quiet situation.

“Beautiful little place, right on binghams door step”

Great little place as a base for my parents & sister visiting from Australia. They needed some where to stop as my place here in England wasn't big enough for 5 adults. This was perfect as was only down the road from my own place. Everything went smoothly with transfering payment and getting the keys. Both the owner of the property and the lady who looks after it were lovely. Perfect location for walking into Bingham to get little bits & pieces and my parents really liked the chinese restaurant. Parking was good, we were always able to park on the street, which really helped. I even stayed here myself with my parents & sister the night before my wedding and got ready here, the photographer got some lovely shots in the kitchen and lounge room. My parents would love to stay here again when they next visit, they really liked it.
