From the owner

Traditional riverside, oak framed and cedar clad cabin on the banks of the river Severn. The property comprises three double bedrooms. Two have luxurious en suite facilities. There is a third well appointed bathroom which is accessed via a well equipped utility room. The living room is spacious with a vaulted ceiling, cosy inglenook and log burner and views over the river through large traditional steel windows that open on to a covered verandah.The elegant mirrored TV has Netflix and Pause and Rewind facilities. Guests enjoy free use of Wi-Fi and telephone, (including calls to UK mobiles, but excluding premium lines and international numbers. Please note, mobile signal is very poor at this postcode). The country kitchen is fully equipped with a gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, bread maker and microwave oven. The Stanley multi fuel range has pride of place under the beamed chimney.

The property will comfortably sleep 6 adults, with scope for 8 by arrangement. Outside we have a 30 foot landing stage, with a lower and upper deck for relaxing or dining and lights for night time use. All told there is 200 feet of river frontage available for private fishing, including a small pebble beach at the bottom of a boat slipway. Barbel are keenly sought on this river and a large one periodically makes a big splash in front of our riverside terrace area. A tree house overlooks the slipway and provides a wonderful platform for watching the bird (and bat) wildlife, particularly the swans flying low and following the contours of the river.

There is ample private parking space.

Please note: Severn Lodge is the permanent home of Tipton the Rescue Cat, much beloved by all our guests. He’s very sociable and sweet natured and even gets a mention in the reviews. Regrettably, therefore, the accommodation is not suitable for persons with cat allergies.

A very warm welcome awaits you at Severn Lodge, a luxuriously appointed log cabin lovingly restored with local oak, cedar and natural stone. Featuring a vaulted oak ceiling, acres of glass giving wonderful views over the river, and a cosy inglenook, this is a magical and wonderfully relaxing place. We wish you a really enjoyable stay - whether you’re here for the fishing, the train spotting, bird watching, or simply a bit of peace and quiet. We will leave a welcome pack of wine, tea, coffee, milk, laundry and dishwasher essentials. Bedding and some towels are supplied and a GHD hairdryer is available. Why can't I call Mandy (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Mandy (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
