From the owner

The cottage at Southall Farm is a recently refurbished 3 bedroom period detached link barn conversion on the site of our family smallholding less than 10 mins drive from the beautiful Georgian riverside town of Bewdley.

With the Severn Valley Railway nearby, picturesque Bridgnorth is under 20 mins drive and the market town of Ludlow and the world heritage site of Ironbridge all easily located. Other local highlights are the West Midlands Safari Park in Bewdley, plus so many little villages and things to do - we will send guest a detailed "what to do during you stay" suggestion pack.

The cottage is set within 6 acres of paddock and woodland walk on your doorstep makes the cottage a wonderful base for any break.

The cottage is situate between Button Bridge and Kinlet and is NOT in the centre of Bewdley town, so unless you are keen ramblers/walkers, a car and/or bicycles are essential to make the most of your stay.

The nearest pub to the property is The Eagle and Serpent at Kinlet, which is just under a mile away (via road/fields). The next closest pub is the Button Oak Inn which is 1.5/2 miles distant.

The cottage isn't suitable for large single gender groups such as hen or stag and is intended for families or two couples and children. We live close by on site so if you are intending for a heavy partying break then this won't be the cottage for you...Please advise when booking if in any doubt over your group of guests.

Note - If you are a family group with one or two extra members of the group, there may be the option for them to stay in another part of the Farm where they can join in the fun but have their own space. Please enquire with us.

Our new hot tub has arrived so don't forget your swimming costumes...(note - there are conditions for use of the hot tub for you protection and that of others - including that the hot tub should not be used after 11pm - these will be sent and need to be acknowledged before arrival as a condition of rental).

The beautiful Wyre Forest is on our doorstep as is the national cycle route 45, which is perfect for walkers and cyclists alike. There is your own dedicated access to the cottage and parking for multiple cars. The large terrace over looks the paddock with far reaching views to Clee Hill and a lovely spot to take in the sunset.

Inside, on the ground there is a large kitchen diner, large lounge and fully equipped downstairs wc and utility room. Upstairs a three bedrooms, 1 large bedroom with ensuite bathroom, 1 other large double and a further bedroom set up with two single beds (Please note this is the most compact of the three bedrooms and the single beds are positioned in a close L shape configuration. This room is ideal for children/teenagers, but can equally accommodate 2 adults). There is also a family bathroom with bath/shower on first floor.

The cottage benefits from washer/dryer, central heating, high speed free broadband, 55" smart tv in lounge and tv's in all the bedrooms, just for the added convenience/entertainment.

We like animals (we have an 2 1/4 yr old dog and a 12 month old puppy) and welcome like minded responsible dog lovers. Please note we will allow only up to 2 well behaved dogs in the cottage (unless exceptional circumstances) and there are requirements to be agreed/observed by guests in relation to dog as as one would expect. Important Note - Please ensure you tell us when enquiring for a booking if you have dogs that you wish to bring please tell us in advance and advise us about them, such as what breed they are their ages so we can agree if acceptable (we have had no issues to date with any dogs...).

New from Summer 2021 - Your own games room - You will be able to have the use of your own separate games room right by the cottage with 7ft pool table and electronic soft tip darts board. There is also a 55 inch wall mounted tv just in case you don't want to miss your favourite programme while hitting the bullseye.. Just to keep everyone entertained on days when the sun isn't shining.

Outside there is a large terrace accessed directly from the lounge or via the kitchen or by separate french doors. There is a generous 6 seater outdoor dining set with cantilever sun parasol. A charcoal bbq is also provided as well as a fire pit and of course, the hot tub.

Mindful of the popularity of electric cars there is an outside electric socket for charging of vehicle via 3 pin plug. Please be aware that as a consequence of the rising costs of electricity and the amount of electricity needed to charge a car, there will be an additional charge of £10 a day for those guests charging their cars. This to be paid additionally during your stay.
