Choose Amuse is a luxury mews style holiday home located in the fabulous and thriving Yorkshire Wolds village of Walkington.

The mews has recently been subjected to a substantial program of renovation and redecoration and is now a much loved and beautifully presented holiday home, which can sleep 4 very comfortably in two sumptuous bedrooms. The house also offers private off road parking and is further complemented by a stunning enclosed cottage style courtyard garden.

Located just a few short steps from the very heart of this truly beautiful village and with long and leafy countryside walks from your door, Walkington welcomes you with a superb mix of facilities and entertainment for you to enjoy during your stay. Be spoilt for choice with three excellent local pubs, two of which have a fabulous reputation for food, and the other offers delicious local and guest beers.

Stroll to our well stocked mini supermarket to collect your morning paper or buy the delightful locally produced pastries which are on sale. Need a stamp or some cash? no problem we even have a Post Office. Walkington village pond is home for a variety of birds and wildlife including a pair of swans who return every year to raise their young.

Your arrival at Choose Amuse will be begin with a complimentary mini hamper of delicious local treats for you to enjoy during your stay. If you don't care for eating out the shaker style kitchen offers everything you will need for preparing a light snack or planning a gourmet meal.

We have installed fully integrated appliances for your convenience which include, a gas hob & double oven, washer / dryer, dishwasher & twin opening fridge & freezer. We have added the odd little luxury here and there too. Our Nespresso machine with Aerocino and starter pack of coffee pods is guaranteed to get your day off to the best possible start.

The breakfast bar / dining area also has an integrated wine chiller - who does not look forward to a glass of something chilled upon returning from a busy day of sightseeing or shopping.

Also included is a travel friendly kitchen starter pack which includes a small supply of: Dishwasher tablets, dishcloths and washing up liquid, washing machine detergent, kitchen hand soap, Bin liners, cooking foil & cling film.

Double doors from the kitchen open out onto a sunny South West facing courtyard. Here you will find a delightful seating and dining area complete with a parasol for shade and a BBQ for Al Fresco dining.

We can even arrange for you to have your steaks or burgers delivered to the door by our high quality local Butcher.Help yourself to whatever you need from the herb garden too!!

For those idyllic & sunny picnic days we have provided a cool bag hamper complete withoutdoor plates, glasses and cutlery…..simply add food and you are good to go.

Outdoor lockable walking boot & welly storage is also available in the courtyard.

The lounge has been completely redecorated and benefits from a brand new Varga woodburning stove, so you'll be able to toast your toes after lovely long walks in our leafy village. An initial supply of logs & kindling is complimentary. For your entertainment we have provided a 42" Smart TV with Free Sat, an Xbox 360 games console, DVD player and a Bose soundlink which will connect to your devices (smart phones, laptop or Mac) wirelessly via bluetooth to play your music.

Both of the bedrooms have been decorated and equipped to hotel standard and each offer Connoisseur King-size beds which are zip linked (can be twins if desired) These are complemented by high quality Egyptian cotton sheets and quilt covers for your comfort.

Each Bedroom is equipped with a wall mounted flatscreen smart television with freeview. Hairdryers are provided in both rooms for your convenience too.

Bedroom one benefits from a huge internal wardrobe which contains a dressing area complete with seating , full length mirrors, lighting and power for those can't live without appliances, plus ample hanging and shelving space for your belongings. Throw back the curtains and enjoy your morning tea or coffee with a fabulous view of the paddock.

Bedroom two has a double wardrobe with hanging and drawer space. There is also a seating area which houses an illuminated mirror , power and shelving.

The bathroom has been completely transformed to include a full size deep bath with power shower over and shower screen. In addition we have installed a heated towel rail and a large sensory illuminated mirror with de-mister & shaving point. All of the towels provided are Christy high quality Egyptian cotton. We have even provided complimentary White Company toiletries for you to enjoy during your stay, pure indulgence!!

To the front of the property & overlooking the paddock we have added a small and secluded seating area for you to enjoy your first cup of Yorkshire Tea in the early morning sunshine….bliss!!!

Choose Amuse offers free and unlimited WiFi throughout and full gas central heating.

Apologies but Choose Amuse is not suitable for children under the age of five. Well behaved dogs will be considered, but are strictly forbidden from the upstairs areas.

The Yorkshire region

A mere 20 minutes away by car or train, you can find our newly crowned City of Culture 2017 - Kingston Upon Hull. Hull has a fabulous history attached too it and offers interesting local heritage museums, a strong sporting presence which include a Premiership football club and 2 very successful rugby teams and also The Deep, the UKs only Submarium.

The East Yorkshire coastal Towns of Bridlington, Flamborough and Hornsea are easily accessed in around half an hour by train and car and offer lovely promenades, sandy beaches and seaside delights for all of the family.

The fabulous City of York which is steeped in history and natural beauty is less than an hours drive from Choose Amuse and offers delightful architecture, fabulous shopping and is also the gateway to our very beautiful North Yorkshire Moors and coastline.


The village of Walkington is highly regarded in the Yorkshire Wolds for its natural beauty, superb location and enviable facilities. Just a few steps from the door at Choose Amuse you will find 3 fantastic pubs. The Dog and Duck has a lovely restaurant with a fabulous reputation for food, The Ferguson Fawcett has a delightful carvery and cute snug rooms with real fires, and The Barrel is a traditional drinking pub which has a lively atmosphere and serves delicious local & guest beers.

You will also find a very well stocked mini supermarket and Post Office which offers regular opening hours. Our pond is delightful all year round, in the spring we welcome back a pair of Swans who return every year to nuture their young and at Christmas the pond is lit beautifully and is centre stage for 2 family carol services.

We have well tended playing fields with first rate facilities which include a children's play area, 2 football pitches, a cricket square and a multi use games area. We can even boast a crown green bowling team.

The village is a frequent stopping point for Wolds Way walkers and cyclists throughout the year and with a frequent bus service linking us to both Hull and Beverley, you can very quickly find yourself enjoying the wider area of Stunning Yorkshire Cities, Towns & Villages.

The East riding of Yorkshire has plenty to offer both young and old. Choose Amuse is a mere 3 miles from the bustling market Town of Beverley which boasts a splendid gothic Minster. Amble through the quaint cobbled streets and side roads browsing in the many independent retailers or up market chains stores. Here you can also sample delicious local produce both in the twice weekly markets and in our fabulous delicatessens. Beverley also has a thriving cafe culture and offers several fabulous little coffee shops to while away the hours with a friend, a newspaper or a slice of homemade cake. Beverley is soon to blessed with its very own contemporary retail and leisure complex in the heart of the town centre. The development aims to marry together the beauty and charm of our historic old town with the convenience of modern and high spec facilities. Due to be completed by Autumn 2015 the complex will include a 5 screen cinema several new eateries and cafes and popular high street retail outlets.

At night Beverley comes alive and offers something for everyone. Splendid eateries which include gastro pubs, lively wine bars and even Michelin stared and rated fine dining restaurants can all be found within the Town and within the immediate surrounding area. Traditional pubs serving real ales with cosy log fires and a welcoming smile are plentiful in the market area too.

"More than fulfilled all requirements"

A great week in a modern, clean and well equipped environment. Obviously owner has a great thought process and has adapted this home to accommodate most needs and wants.

"Highly Reccommended"

Choose Amuse is an immaculate holiday house and the owner Karen is extremely friendly and helpful,and clearly cares about her guests enjoying their stay.There is such attention to detail at the mews,and luxuries such as a huge bath,White Company toiletries,comfy beds,thick carpets.On arrival we had a box of homemade cakes and a Thank You card,which was a lovely touch.Don't hesitate to book here!

"Top quality holiday cottage"

This was our second stay at Choose Amuse. It ticks all the boxes for a perfect holiday. The cottage has been equipped to a very high standard. The beds are wonderfully comfortable with Dorma bed linen. The bathroom has high quality fittings with plenty of hot water and lovely Christy towels. The west facing court yard garden is the ideal place for a quiet afternoon. We enjoyed our morning stroll down to the village shop for milk and papers. It also houses a post office for cards and stamps.

"Lovely house, peaceful location, excellent G & T patio!"

We found the mews by accident whilst looking for a hotel in Beverley and decided it would be more relaxing to self cater. The house is lovely with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and it was nice to have decent sized wine glasses and mugs. The beds were really comfy and so many pillows! The weather could have been warmer but we did manage a G&T on the patio which is a lovely sunny spot. It's a short walk to the village shop and the village pubs. Thank you Karen - we hope to be back soon.

From now on the garden shall be known as the "G & T patio" Thank you for your kind words, it's good to know that we were able to compete with the local hotels. We'd love to welcome you back again anytime.

"A delightful self-catering home: high quality with some lovely touches."

"Excellent quality, lacks for nothing"

The property was furnished and equipped to the highest standard, there was nothing that we needed during our stay that was not provided. Contact with the owner was very pleasant, emails were answered promptly and everything was explained clearly. On arrival were were greeted with a welcome card, together with a cake and the essentials to allow for a cup of coffee or tea without having to go shopping. The location was ideal for us as we were visiting family in the area, the village itself is home to two very good pubs, the Dog and Duck, for those who are looking for a meal and a drink and The Barrel for those who are just looking for a drink. The nearby town of Beverley has a number of supermarkets, a twice weekly market and a rang of other stores covering almost all shopping needs.

"would thoroughly recommend"

Choose Amuse is a lovely, well appointed, spotlessly clean cottage. The owners were very helpful and provided thoughtful little extras. The cottage is tastefully furnished, warm and cosy, with extremely comfortable beds and excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. The cottage is in a quiet location with views across fields at the front and a few minutes walk to the village shop and pubs. A perfect holiday retreat with easy access to the delightful market towns in the Yorkshire dales and moors. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage!

Being able to accommodate you whilst visiting your Daughter for a few precious days was completely my pleasure. I am delighted that you chose to stay at the mews house and hope that you are able to make the journey North again soon. Thanks for being super guests and for sharing your mews experience with others.

"Perfect place for a relaxing break"

This is a beautifully kept cottage which was incredibly clean and welcoming. We loved the little welcome hamper after a long drive and even the next door neighbours were friendly and said hello when we were sat in the garden. A well equipped kitchen meant we could cook meals in and a very helpful folder of information offered us a range of local take away menuep too. My friend brought her dog along and I impressed the owners allow dogs when so many don't. There were lovely little touches all through the house, dVDs, board games, open log fire, quality bedding etc. we would love to go back.

"The best Place I have ever stayed!"

This has to be the best cottage I have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in quite a lot around the Country). The cottage has been finished to a very high standard, with attention paid to every little detail. Better than home from home! The owners are very friendly and make you feel so welcome, with a wonderful welcome pack. We will definately stay there many more times to come. I cannot recommend highly enough!
