“Beautiful very well appointed home.”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2017

Set in lovely village of Walkington in a very peaceful quiet setting. A very well appointed house beautifully decorated. Karen has thought of everything any guest would need. Even down to tea and scones on arrival. I have family in Walkington and would certainly recommend Choose Amuse to family and friends to come and stay any time we have any family reunion.

Owner's reply: I'm so pleased you chose to stay at the mews for your family celebration. This is proving to be very popular with families who live locally and want to have their guests close when they visit. Huge thanks to your guests for looking after the mews so well too, they can come back at anytime.

“Marvellous Mews”

I can only agree with all the previous reviews. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful village. The mews has everything you need and all the little extra touches make it a very special home from home. Karen, the owner, cares about both the property and her guests, the welcome treats on arrival were much appreciated. Would happily recommend this cottage to family, friends and anyone reading this review.

Owner's reply: Thanks for a lovely review and I am so happy that you enjoyed your half term break with the family at the mews. You were lovely guests and you'll be welcome to return at anytime.

“East Yorkshire Little Haven of Heaven”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2016

The presentation of Chose Amuse is exceptional. It is immaculately clean, and the decoration is equal to if not better than any London boutique hotel. The beds are very comfortable too. Karen is very thoughtful and goes to extreme lengths to make sure everyone is accommodated for even leaving welcome chews for the dogs on arrival!. The location is great for walks on The Westwood, shopping in Beverley and close to many local Tourist Attractions. We have rented many holiday houses before and this one is head and shoulders above the rest. We really cannot recommend enough

Owner's reply: It was so lovely to welcome you back again and I am delighted that we continue to get things right for your visits. Always a pleasure and I look forward to hearing from you again soon.

“Bijou , elegant and perfect”

Mews is is perfect. Tastefully decorated . Very welcome treats on arrival . Location for Beverley cheaper in taxi than on bus for 4 adults. Taxi to pipe and glass approx 15.00 £ well recommended . Back to the mews ,it is so well equipped and we would stay again

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your lovely review, I'm thrilled you enjoyed your weekend away and were able to eat at what is arguably one of East Yorkshire's best restaurants. Thanks once again for leaving the mews so clean and tidy upon your departure, you'll be warmly welcomed back again anytime

The house is extremely well presented. Excellent facilities. Good location with great food pub a very short walk down to the end of the road. Owner supplied all information required and was very friendly. Lots of nice little extra touches as well such as biscuits and a bottle of prosecco left out for our arrival. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for a lovely review. We pride ourselves on offering a warm welcome and lots of extra special touches to make our guests mews experience that tiny bit more fabulous. The location in the village is as you have said just perfect for a wander down to the pubs where visitors & locals alike will always be guaranteed a smile, a delicious meal and a decent Yorkshire pint. Come back anytime

“Luxurious, csoy, homely accommodation in a quaint village, everything you could want and more.”

Reviewed 17 Nov 2015

We came from Geneva to visit our daughter who is studying at a nearby college in Bishop Burton. We would normally stay in Beverley, but couldn’t find accommodation for our dates and chose somewhere nearby. I ‘m now really glad that we couldn’t find anything in Beverley as “Choose Amuse” turned out to be a wonderful find. From the minute you arrived with the wonderful welcome package you felt really at home. The house is to the highest standard and immaculately clean. It has a feeling of luxury and yet it’s cosy and homely at the same time, a real home from home. So much so that we didn’t want to leave. It has everything you need and more. We have rented private accommodation in different places around the World and this was certainly one of our favourites and definitely the best value for money. We didn’t get much chance to explore Walkington itself due to our short stay and the terrible weather that weekend, but could see that it is a quaint little Yorkshire village. We did manage to take a 5 minute walk in the pouring rain to the local “Dog and Duck” to have something to eat and drink, which was lovely and the people very friendly. Had we been there longer we would have explored more and tried the other pub just around the corner. Even to go a bit further afield and take a taxi was not expensive. The booking process was really easy and Karen the owner was lovely to deal with responding quickly to emails. If we have the opportunity to visit the area again we will definitely try to book the house again. I would not only recommend this place to my friends, but also encourage them to stay here, it’s just wonderful.

Owner's reply: Totally my pleasure to welcome you to our mews in fabulous East Yorkshire. I love that we are able to bring families together for celebrations and catch ups and as lovely as Beverley is I am of course delighted that you were able to sample our quaint little village of Walkington. Come back soon.

Choose Amuse is an immaculate holiday house and the owner Karen is extremely friendly and helpful, and clearly cares about her guests enjoying their stay. There is such attention to detail at the mews, and luxuries such as a huge bath,White Company toiletries, comfy beds, thick carpets. On arrival we had a box of homemade cakes and a Thank You card, which was a lovely touch.Don't hesitate to book here!

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your lovely review. “Top quality holiday cottage”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2015

This was our second stay at Choose Amuse. It ticks all the boxes for a perfect holiday. The cottage has been equipped to a very high standard. The beds are wonderfully comfortable with Dorma bed linen. The bathroom has high quality fittings with plenty of hot water and lovely Christy towels. The west facing court yard garden is the ideal place for a quiet afternoon. We enjoyed our morning stroll down to the village shop for milk and papers. It also houses a post office for cards and stamps.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your kind words and also for making the decision to return to the mews, it was a pleasure to welcome you back and we are delighted that you have booked to come back again later this year. Have a lovely Summer

“Lovely house, peaceful location, excellent G & T patio!”

Reviewed 15 May 2015

We found the mews by accident whilst looking for a hotel in Beverley and decided it would be more relaxing to self cater. The house is lovely with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and it was nice to have decent sized wine glasses and mugs. The beds were really comfy and so many pillows! The weather could have been warmer but we did manage a G&T on the patio which is a lovely sunny spot. It's a short walk to the village shop and the village pubs. Thank you Karen - we hope to be back soon.

Owner's reply: From now on the garden shall be known as the "G & T patio" Thank you for your kind words, it's good to know that we were able to compete with the local hotels. We'd love to welcome you back again anytime.
