The Berlin region

Brandeburg state takes its name from 'ancient capital of the same name. The name of the empire that gave the city was conquered Slavs Brennaburg, but you are not sure that the name derived from the Slavic bran (~ swamp), or from the Germanic or Indo brand brendh (~ surrounded by water), but the chaplains and clergy imperial denied these opportunities by assigning the name (and its origin) of the city to the cult of Saint Brendan.
Located in the eastern part of the nation, the Brandenburg surrounds but does not include, the federal capital, Berlin.

It is bordered to the north by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, to the east by Poland (voivodships of Western Pomerania and Lubusz), to the south with Saxony in the west and Saxony-Anhalt to the north-west for a short distance, with Lower Saxony.

The Oder River forms a part of the eastern border, the Elbe River a part of the West. The main rivers in the state are the Spree and the Havel. In the south-east lie the marshes of the region called the Spreewald, this is the northernmost part of Lusatia, where he still lives the Slavic population of the Sorbs. These areas are bilingual, ie German and rowan are both used.

Berlin is a very popular tourist destination, with a considerable increase of overnight stays in the years following the reunification of the city, and particularly since the start of the new millennium. International interest for Berlin also contribute new and futuristic architectural structures [14]. Addition to a varied number of tourist receptive points, mainly located in the center (but also in most of the suburbs), note the cost of capital than many other tourist towns in and outside Europe.

“not as advertised”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2014

Arrived and was greeted by cleaning lady who spoke no English, no welcome pack to explain WiFi,key return, nothing, the cleaner phoned the landlord (In Italy) to give me the WiFi key a and he just told me it was on the router (in German). Once connected I soon realised that the internet is not connected so I did not have internet access for the entire week, I emailed the landlord from the nearest WiFi cafe 1km away but he never replied, he did not leave a phone number or emergency contacts There was also no kettle or ironing board or instructions on how to use the hob in the kitchen.the pipes make noise all night in the bathroom, the furniture is shabby and some broken items. There is a lot of wiring that looks dangerous. The flat is on the 3rd floor no lift. I had to use a pan to make a cup of coffee. Avoid especially if you think having WiFi is important.
