Interaction with guest

Many of our guests have stayed before but if you are new to Rigal you will find that you will receive a warm welcome along with a bottle of local wine and some freshly laid free range eggs. We visit the farm in the morning to feed the animals and you are invited to join us to feed, stroke and get to know the animals. During this time we are on hand to recommend places of interest to visit, make restaurant reservations for you or just to answer any questions you have or sort out any problems. We pop round in the evening to close the animals away, if you want to chat we are available, if privacy is what you are looking for there are plenty of quiet places to relax and unwind.

Very Good

“The perfect family holiday”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2013

The Gite at Rigal is simply perfect for a relaxing family holiday... the gite itself provides great accommodation, three big bedrooms and loads of living space. We have great memories of sitting in the wonderful 'farmhouse' kitchen looking out to the gardens. The facilities at Rigal are perfect, particularly for young families. The pool is delightful, and the extensive gardens provided endless hours of fun for our three year old. Highlight of the day was the trip to feed the pigs and other animals.

“Perfect holiday for the WHOLE family”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

It's not easy to find some place that will keep three generations happy, but the Gite at Rigal has everything my children, my wife and I and my mother-in-law could ask for. The gite itself is lovely and spacious, and well laid out for extended family. The children loved playing in the pool, feeding the animals, collecting eggs and just running about. Chris & Jacky were warm and welcoming. The area is gorgeous and full of great day trips, from medieval castles to pre-historic grottoes to hanging gardens. The local produce is outstanding and the local wine both cheap and tasty. We can't wait to go back!

“Everything you could ask for”

A lovely gite in beautiful surroundings - even with 3 small children everything was catered for - toys, books, DVDs Really relaxing, we hope to come back next year!

“Wonderful relaxing Gite with everything you need for kids...!”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2012

This was our second stay in the Gite and again we had a truly wonderful time. Chris and Jackie have thought of everything that their guests might need and especially for those with children (cot, travel cot, pushchairs, highchair, baby bouncer, bed guard, stairgates, baby bath, toys and DVDs galore and so much more - which means you can leave your stuff at home which makes travelling so much easier!). We had great weather when we stayed (up to 34 C!) and the solar heated pool was just a lovely temperature. We have stayed in many French properties in the past with unheated pools and it is just so much more pleasant! The kids loved the animals on the farm and the climbing frames, swings and slides. I could not imagine finding a better holiday Gite in France. Thanks again

“Perfect in Every Way”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2012

Chris and Jacky are warm and hospitable, we could definitely see ourselves being friends with them! Their property is beautiful, lovingly maintained and the gite we stayed in was in excellent condition. The home was amazingly child friendly containing everything from a crib and high chair to toys, books and dvd's. All of our daily excursions came off of the list that Chris & Jacky provided which was great as we did not have to do much legwork! We would without a hesitation recommend either the Manor or Gite at Rigal to any friend, family or stranger. The surrounding ares are beautiful and filled with great castles and gardens. We would most certainly return to Rigal for another visit.

“My little piece of heaven.. totally relaxing and unspoilt.”

This is the second time we have stayed at Le Rigal and we would come back again. Our hosts are wonderful and are there if you need them and the accomodation is a home from home. Extremely comfortable and spotless. So much to do locally and amenities are only a short drive away. You really can dip into the French way of life. The children can play freely and the swimming pool is very well maintained and clean. Reluctant to recommend to too many people or we might not get our holiday next time!

“A lovely gite and a lovely location”

Reviewed 7 Sep 2011

This was a lovely family friendly trip to a gite which was full of character and with all amenities for a young family. Everything that was need was supplied. The area is very beautiful and there are plenty of things to see and do. The pool and the playground area kept the children well occupied.

“The Gite at Le Rigal, great location, facilities and hosts”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2011

Chris, Jackie, Alice and Eliza are the perfect hosts, their Gite blends traditional and contemporary accomodation set in the stunning Dordogne countryside, this was our second visit to Rigal and it did not disappoint, the facilities are well appointed with over 100 acres of farmland to explore. Wildlife is on your doorstep and opportunities for you to experience french rural life. For those who wish to explore the region you have a centrally located base with easy access to many stunning venues, restruants and atractions; whether you want adrenalin filled quad bike tours, go-karts or a visit to the stunning water park or the gentle exploration of the valleys and rivers by canoe, Rigal offers easy access to all. We have already booked our 2011 return visit!!

“Just what we hoped for a holiday gite”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2011

From the website onwards everything about this holiday gite was special.Nothing was too much trouble and Chris and Jacky were the perfect hosts. There when needed but not too intrusive. Our three children (2,6,and9) had the time of their life visiting local attractions swimming in the perfect pool or playing at Swallows and Amazons in the woods.I would recommend this gite as a perfect base to holiday in this part of France. In a nice quite area but near to everthing you would need. All in all a wonderful place run by wonderful people
