Description from owner

Description

Vine cottage is unique in it's position, It is located in the heart of the Bergerac Vineyards. The views from the house and terraces of the surrounding vineyards are stunning, and walking through the vines is as simple as opening the garden gate. There are designated walks through the vines or you can simply stroll and enjoy. Watching the sun set over the vines is a sight not to be missed.

Although we do not have a chateau, we do work our own vines and produce a small amount of wine. We would be very happy to explain the process of wine making and sampling the wine is 'obligatory'.

Many of our neighbours make a very good selection of wines,(At a very reasonable price) and wine tasting can be arranged very easily and at no cost. The Vineyards at St Emilion and Bordeaux are all within easy driving distance and cannot be missed.

Vine Cottage itself has two large individual bedrooms suitable for friends and family who want to holiday together but who do not want to share a bedroom.

The cottage has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Our cottage is available for rent to two people only, allowing extra comfort and space for all.

The rest of the house includes a large cool living space with comfortable seats, television and DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped with large, fridge freezer, microwave, cooker and dish washer and cooking essentials are available on arrival free of charge( Salt, pepper, oil etc...)

Outside there is a large sunny terrace in front of the house ( for sole use of guests ) with sun loungers, dining table and chairs and beautiful views of the vines and local countryside. This terrace leads onto the pool area surrounded by decking , sun shades and sun loungers, perfect for relaxing and chilling in the summer heat (again for sole use of guests). The pool is shared with owners, but much effort will be made to allow 'time alone'.

The cottage is perfect for couples, sole travellers and travellers wishing to chill for a few nights. If you have questions about the cottage please do not hesitate to contact us.

We offer a cleaning service for those who would like to just chill. This charge will be 35 euros. But if you leave the cottage in the same state as you found it, there will be no charge.

Getting around

Getting around is easy by car, we are at the gateway of the Dordogne with many opportunities to visit historical and beautiful places such as La Roche de Gageac, Baynac, Sarlat, and Domme Or simply spend you days discovering the local markets, Bergerac and Chateau Bridoire. Better still for a relaxing day chill out by the pool or stroll through the vines.

Interaction with guest

We have lived in this area for 15 years so have acquired a great knowledge of local tourist attractions, restaurants, and importantly good routes around the area. Our home is next to the cottage so we will be available through out your stay to help make your stay with us comfortable and enjoyable. It would also be a pleasure for us to book restaurants, museums and other attractions. Unfortunately we cannot accept guests with dogs. We do have a small Labrador who is very well behaved and generally plays with her ball in the garden.

“A lovely cottage in a perfect location”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2019

We had such a great stay at Vine Cottage. A wonderful spot to enjoy the surroundings and to unwind. An evening walk through the vineyards, followed by a glass of Sue and Steve's own wine, chilling in sun loungers around the pool... bliss! Lots to explore in the immediate surrounds. A very comfortable and authentic french cottage. And the best value cottage in the area! Ticks all the boxes. Sue and Steve were such brilliant hosts and couldn't do enough for us.
