The Valenciana region

The Costa Azahar is the name given to the coastal resort of the Balearic Sea, the Mediterranean, situated in the province of Castellón (Spain), consisting of about 120 km of beaches and coves. Its name comes from the orange blossom, orange blossom and culture par excellence of the province.

Traditionally the name of Costa del Azahar has also included the coast of Valencia (even to the Cabo de la Nao in Alicante), but the official tourism brand to refer only to the province of Castellón, has made lately, the tourist name for the coast of Valencia simply be called Costa de Valencia.

If we focus on the tourism brand as such and not the geographical stretch of coast between the Ebro Delta and the Cabo de la Nao, the Costa del Azahar only encompass the coast of the province of Castellón, and therefore, in the same, the sun and beach tourism typical of coastal towns such as Vinaroz, Benicarlo, Peniscola, Oropesa del Mar, Benicassim or Moncófar, also contrasts with the protected natural areas of the Sierra de Irta (mountain range parallel to the coast virtually unchanged) the wetland Prat Cabanes-Torreblanca, the landscape of the Desert Palms and their views of the coast, or the Nature Reserve Columbrete Islands 56 km from the coast. On the music you can hear the paso doble 'Costa del Azahar' composed by Maestro Manuel Lillo Torregrosa.

Apart from the constant range of leisure and entertainment in the capital, are also close to the sea, small enclaves like Mascarell fortified village, small fishing villages on the coast, or the cultivation of citrus constant peculiar to the province.
