We specialise in giving parents and children the best and relaxing family holiday possible at our quiet and intimate complex of 3 cottages with the facilities of a much larger complex.

For families with babies - home-from-home cottages to let you keep your routines, travel light as our 3 cottages have all you need for your baby, peace of mind as we put safety first.
For families with toddlers - Many toys and games in the play barn, large gardens and playground to let off steam, safety proofed cottages and a fenced and alarmed swimming pool.
For families with school age children - all of the above plus your children with be able to make friends with the children from the other 2 cottages and wile away the days playing safely while you relax.
For parents we provide many services such as home cooked meals, BBQ night, visiting beautician, bikes, with child seat, buggies and trailers for family walks or bike rides, local information and help.

Run by Anna and Simon Davey, 2 award winning critically acclaimed ex- restaurateurs, Honeysuckle cottage is set on a complex of gites set in a 4 acre oasis of tranquillity within the French countryside yet only a couple of miles from 2 well equipped villages.

The cottage is newly renovated, well equipped and furnished to a high standard. Your hosts are on site to ensure that you have a great holiday and offer such services as pamper days, home-cooked meals, host BBQ, baby sitting and baby equipment. Within the grounds there is a nicely decked heated pool, children's play area, childrens play-barn, bikes of all shapes and sizes, various sports equipment and plenty of quiet shady spots to chill out, read a book or have a glass of wine. The surrounding area has something for everyone, excellent cycling and walks, golf, historical buildings, animal parks, theme parks, fishing, go-kart, quad bikes, shopping in Poitiers, thalassotherapy in La Rochelle, lake beaches locally and main beaches just over 1 ½ hours drive.

Hollyhock has electric heating and a wood burner. Anti-allergy pillows and duvets provided. All twin beds can be made up as a double on request. The gite can be child proofed on request, including safety locks, bed guards, stair gates. Baby equipment can be provided on request, we have cots, stroller, bumbo, potty, high chair, steriliser, cutlery, baby monitor, changing mat, baby bath, baby den – please let us know what you require when you book. We can also provided baby sitting services. Complimentary welcome pack included in the price (butter, milk, tea, sugar, bread, cheese and wine).

“Lovely family holiday”

This was our second family holiday staying in Hollyhock and again it was a lovely and relaxing week. Our three kids aged 6, 6 and 8 had an amazing time playing with the other kids and enjoying the games, available activities and swimming pool. The cottage is cosy and comfortable with all the equipment one could need and Anna and Simon are warm, welcoming and helpful hosts. I would highly recommend a visit!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Anna (the owner) a message.

If Anna (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
