“Immaculate villa in lovely village”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2013

We had a lovely stay in Erin's villa. Everything was clean and in great condition. Very spacious and great shutters to keep out light, heat and noise. Note that there are a LOT of stairs as it's built into a hill. The pool is two storeys below the basement level of the house. We were with our toddler, it was fine as there were two of us to keep an eye on him but I wouldn't like to stay there with more than one child who's not quite stair-safe yet. And it's not suitable for those who find stairs a challenge. The only slight annoyance were the noisy neighbours in the pool next door some days and on Saturday evening - but there's not a lot Erin can do about that, and if you don't have small children or aren't looking for silence then you'll be fine. Also the curtains seem to have gone missing from the back of the house - needs more curtains or awnings to cut down on the heat as the sun's on the back of the house from 12 till it sets - great for the pool though!

Owner's reply: So lovely to hear from you! Thanks for the feedback and the shade curtains have been replaced plus two large sun umbrellas have been installed. Warmest regards Erin

“Wonderful house in a beautiful village!”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2013

Everything is just perfect: the house is wonderful, the little village picturesque with very good restaurants and small bars, great walks nearby, beautiful pool area and lovely sights from each of the 4 (!) terraces. We just loved all of it. We have been in many rental houses around the world, but this is defenitely one of the prettiest and most equiped: it is like you are at home. So if you are looking for a beautiful house situated in a green, spectacular and authentic part of Andalucia with lots of walks and sightseeing nearby (and very good food..): don't hesitate! Thank you Erin!

Owner's reply: I am so happy that you had great stay. I look forward to seeing you return to Benamahoma. Warm regards, Erin

“Beautiful house in lovely surroundings”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2012

I have been to Erin's wonderful villa twice now and both times found it brilliant. The house is large, spacious and with lovely outdoor space including a swimming pool perfect for dipping in and out of (the large municipal swimming pool in the village is great if you want to do proper lengths and is very clean and well maintained). The village is perfect, with few (if any!) other tourists and contains a few restaurants and bars which are great for an evening drink or a relaxed dinner. The surrounding villages are worth a visit, but you can also easily spend the week in the house as it is so relaxing (apart from the early morning wake up calls from the cockerels nearby!). The house has all the amenities you could need including well-equipped kitchen, bbq, tv, dvd, music etc. All in all, a really lovely place to stay and I daresay I will be back again!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much - hope to see you back again!

“Beautiful house in a peaceful, scenic white mountain village”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2011

This village house is tastefully decorated and furnished, with all the facilities you could wish for, including a delightful pool at the bottom of a steep terraced garden, with fruit trees. The village itself is very Spanish and friendly with very few tourists. There are bars and restaurants, a bakery, bank, pharmacy and free internet in a little library. The back of the house has terraces with stunning views of the mountains. It is a very good base for exploring the region, with Jerez, Cadiz and Seville all an easy car journey away. The roads have very little traffic. One of the most relaxing holidays I've ever had.

Owner's reply: Hi - so happy you enjoyed the house as much as I do. Hope to see you back again soon. Warmest regards.

“A taste of the real Spain”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2011

This is a fantastic property situated in a delightful Spanish village in the mountains. We stayed here for 1 week in June and had a wonderful time. The house has been decorated to the highest standard and is very clean throughout with everything you need. It has a private pool/lounge area but also a shaded veranda for evening cocktails. There are a couple of restaurants in the village where the local delicacy is trout caught from the local river which is amazing! There is also a great little supermarket with everything you need. We hired a car to get around in the area to see some of the other villages and the drives around there are beautiful. We also spent a day in Seville which is well worth a visit, especially the bullring.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. Would love to see you back soon. Warmest regards.

“A bit of real spain and very comfortable”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2011

Very comfortable stay in a lovely mountain village - house was built into the hillside and had a number of lovely terraces to sit out with a drink and view the villagers at work in their farms, or see the sun go down behind the mountains. House spacious and cool, with all modern things you want, including comfortable beds, well fitted kichen and a big store of dvds! Village is charming, and local people friendly. Easy to drive, and nice walks locally. Very peaceful and all that we wanted.

Owner's reply: So happy you had a great time and hope to see you back again soon! Warmest regards, Erin

“A stunning house that exceeded all our expectations.”

Reviewed 18 May 2011

We had such a good time that we cam back and will do so again. The village is stunning. It was great to have the alternative large pool in the village and we also took the children to the stunning cliff top pool in Grazalema. Erin was the perfect host and was able to give service without being fussy or invasive. The house is spacious with all the utensils you find in your own kitchen, and has a great range of options for a quiet night in. The local restaurants are simple but good, and this is definitely a place to go if you don't want to find yourself surrounded by tourists. The views every morning are amazing (beware the dawn chorus - it's loud!) and the local walks are filled with interesting trees ,plants and animals. I wouldn't recommend this for those with buggies but perfect for families who like the outdoors.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the lovely review and I am looking forward to seeing you back in Benamahoma soon. It's a shame you couldn't make it this year in the end. Take care - very warm regards to all the family. Erin
