“Great Holiday”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2015

Had a pleasurable stay here in July 2015. My husband and I travelled with 3 teenage children for a week and very much enjoyed our stay. Slightly negative as in we arrived quite late and normally would see some cold water and basic supplies but there was nothing and the supermarket was closed by now, luckily we could drink the tap water or we really would have struggled. We stay in houses / villas every year and have got used to this, along with Wi Fi so that was a surprise to us but the house doesn't advertise this anyways. We where also a bit disappointed that the air con is only fitted down stairs. Admittedly, we where there on a very hot week but one of the kids had to sleep downstairs all week as her bedroom was to hot so this left me and my husband sleeping upstairs with 2 fans on us all night, not too bad as long as we wore ear plugs! We choose not to hire a car and managed fine up and down the hill, on the buses or even the train and the house has plenty of timetables in there ready for you. All in all for the price we paid we would have expected wifi, aircon and a welcome pack of water / tea bags as we are used to this when we pay the amounts we do but the house is lovely, its on a lovely complex and the pool was fantastic! Its very clean and modern, and communication with the owner throughout has been brilliant. Would happily return in cooler months or if the house has air con fitted upstairs too!

“Super location, fantastic pool area and excellent host”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2014

House was as described, clean and equipped with all you need. key delivery and introduction to the house was fantastic and the host people was were helpful. Everything was as we have imagined, and absolutely recommendable. I would personally recommend to rent a car, during your stay. we did and it just made the vacation the best ever. Mom, dad and 3 children

“Authentic charming house with a perfect location ideal for families”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2014

I recently stayed at Casa Milana with my family. They live in Malaga city and I live in London. I don't really like to stay by the sea in Costa Del Sol, it is a bit dated in my opinion and too many concrete buildings! So I found the perfect location and the perfect property for us all! Casa Milana is part of a private gated residential complex a few minutes up the road away from the busy roads and noise and on an elevated hill. The house is spacious, with neutral decoration, 3 bedrooms in two levels, 3 bathrooms, front and back terraces, balcony in one of the rooms upstairs, air con only in the living room and fans in each room - well equipped kitchen, oven and microwave... very quiet. no sea views but, amazing communal swimming pool with well maintained gardens and palm trees facing the Mediterranean... the pool was always empty even though it was end of June and the gardener was always there looking after all the plants, etc... all in all, an amazing place perfect for families. I arranged this long w-end at Casa Milana as a special 50th birthday present to my sister. We had a BBQ on the back terrace and an amazing party. Can't wait to repeat the experience. Highly recommend!

“Fantastic holiday apartment”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2014

We stayed here for a long weekend in June, and loved the apartment. It's really well situated, about 5 mins to the village, main town and restaurants, and just a few mins to the coast. The apartment itself is just what we needed, with two pretty verandas to have evening BBQs, enough room for the whole family, comfortable and very clean. The swimming pool lovely and relaxing (it's large enough to do lengths if you fancy an early morning swim), and has a beautiful view of the sea - really relaxing to sit by all afternoon. It was very easy dealing with Elisa, who responded to our emails within a few hours, and Nikki and Mike were able to meet us late in the evening when we arrived. They also gave us some great tips on the area - if you can, I would definitely recommend going for dinner to 'Toro' by the marina (the garlic prawns are incredible). We found the apartment really quick to get to from the airport (under an hour - Elisa sent us simple directions to follow). it's also half way between Malaga and Marbella, so we were able to take a day trip there one day (which I would recommend doing). We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Milana and will definitely be back.

“Lovely weather, lovely house in lovely surroundings and as simple as a few emails.”

From the start. Booking the house was simple, efficient and quick. On arrival we were met, even though I got lost and was two hours late on a Sunday. Used Malaga Car.COM and was really happy although ditch the Sat Nav, google earth was much better. The sat nav got me lost. House was as per the pictures and lovely and cool even when it got up to thirty. Humidity was good as well but it was only May. Nice garden set and a really handy, big chiller unit outside if your planning time on the terrace. Beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms excellent although don't be fooled by the look of the shower, their great. More than enough pressure and plenty of hot water. Kitchen is small but has everything including a dishwasher and plenty of fridge / cupboard space. The location is slightly out of the way and a car or taxi are needed if you plan to eat out. Taxi if your going to drink. Spain has a zero limit for alcohol. Pool area is great as they say gated and well equipped with sun beds and palm shades. Local area offers three main areas. 1. The beach front, 2. Mid town further up the hill and pueblo which is the old village. The beach front has several really nice beaches, nice bars and restaurants. Mid town has anything you could need from supermarkets to phone shops (orange or voda phone are best in area) and more bars / restaurants. The old town had a bit more history but the hole area is nice and the locals friendly. Had a particularly good Italian. There are several English / Irish bars about although I did not use any of them on this occasion. Enough to say I am going to return for a while over Christmas or the new year and I will go back to this property.

“What more could we want!”

Amazing location and a beautiful house in a really well kept complex. Lazed around the pool in the day and then headed into Malaga and Benelmadena Marina in the evening for cocktails, food and dancing! Elisa was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Can't wait for our next visit!

“Great Holiday, 5 stars!”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2013

Very enjoyable Holiday. Apartment was very good, clean and spacious. I traveled with my family, wife and two children, we all had separate bedrooms with bathroom each. Balcony at the front of the house is great, big space, fridge outside with cool beers and wines while you BBQ-ing is amazing. Probably pool was the highlights as it is well maintained clean. Apart from 4 of us there were another 4-8 people at most. Great view from pool. I would recommend the car as you can explore the area. Pueblo-village was excellent, brilliant restaurants, lovely small shops and cafes. Malaga was only 30min away by car and you need to explore Marbella and Puerto buena was something that must be seen. We would defiantly will be back and great hospitality from Nikki, Mike and Elisa and Dan.

“Had an amazing time!! Loved the apartment! Will definitely return!”

Well, its been a total pleasure dealing with Elisa, Nikki and Mike. Right from booking the apartment Elisa has been really helpful and great to deal with. When we got there we were greeted by Nikki and Mike. Again a very friendly couple who showed us the clean and well maintained apartment. They answered any questions we had and helped us thoroughly with regards to any information regarding the area. The pool was what made the holiday! A very spacious and quiet pool which you can enjoy and relax in! The BBQ saved us money as we had a few bbqs on the miranda in the apartment! Overall an ideal place to stay in with close proximity to the beach and tourist places! I would advise a car. Will definitely be staying there again if we come to Spain! Thanks once again Elisa!

“Comfortable, quiet, good value with excellent pool complex”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2011

We stayed at Casa Milana with our two teenage sons as a base for a holiday and some business. The house is at the top end of the Arcos de La Perla complex and about a two minute walk away from the excellent communal gated pool complex. The accomodation consists of three nicely furnished double bedrooms each with their own bathroom. The master bedroom has a balcony with table and chairs and an ensuite bathroom with wc, bidet and over bath shower. The other upstairs double has a separate bathroom with wc, bidet and over bath shower. The downstairs double has a separate bathroom with shower wc and bidet. All bedrooms have comfortable double beds, more than adequate cupboard and drawer space, bed side tables and over head fans to help cool the rooms. The lounge and dining area are of a good size with sliding patio doors out on to an excellent sized patio with sun beds, parasol, dining table and chairs and a charcoal barbecue. The kitchen is a good size with an excellent fridge freezer for a self catering property, dish washer, washing machine, electric oven and hob, micro wave, toaster and kettle. Plenty of cutlery and glassware to do six people for two meals. There is a front patio with washing lines to hang out towels and laundry etc. at the end of the day. The star of the show is the gated pool complex. Here is an excellent kidney shaped pool with sun loungers, straw parasols, showers. toilets and grassed areas. Even in the hight of the summer tourist season this area was not crowded and we always managed to get a sun lounger. This area was so good that we never went to the beach. You will need a hire car if you are to really benefit from staying here and there is good covered parking to leave your car. The complex is gated with access via an entry "blipper" so all is pretty secure. There is a Kwiksave about 1 Km away which sells a fair range of British Goods if you cannot manage without marmite and PG tips, and shreddies, etc. There are also good supermarkets such as Carrefour and Mercadona within a short drive with a much wider range of produce. We ate out on several occasions and would highly recommend the Restaurant La Fuente in Benalmadena Pueblo and also the Cafe Bar Manaos. Both are in the Plaza Espana. The first is twice the price of the second but worth every penny and we had our last night meal here as a treat. It is deservedly very popular so make sure you book. Cafe Manaos serves good quality cafe type food, with excellent service and we had some great swordfish steak here along with excellent Sangria. We mangaed to visit Gibraltar, the Alhambra Palace in Granada, the Aqualand Park in Torremolinos and also went on an excellent off road tour in the mountains through a company called Monte Aventura. This last was a very special trip and quite possibly the highlight of our holiday. A word of advice to all us English unused to Spanish Hours. They eat and go to bed very late in the evening. It is not unusual for them to still be up and chatting on the terrace at 1:00 am. If you can manage it, try and convert to Spanish time for eating and sleeping. That way you will not be frustrated by late night revellry. Would I reccomend this property? Absolutely and we would be back here like a shot if we come back to Benalmadena.
