“Brilliant holiday, looking forward to going again.”
We had an amazing time, apartment was lovely, and easy access to buses, to access various destinations. We would love to book again but think in summer when the pool is also open. One thing would be good is areas to visit in the apartment x
“Photographs on listing (at time of booking) somewhat misleading.”
Our first impression was not good, as it was necessary (before even beginning the holiday) to replace the hose on the shower in the en suite bathroom. The water was pouring from the damaged hose and not from the shower head. There were also two bulbs that needed replacement; not a bad thing with hindsight as the globe on one of the lights was very badly fitted and could have fallen off at any time. As this is a two bed apartment and therefore accommodates four adults it is very useful to have two fully operational bathrooms. This was not the case. Although the shower in the second bathroom was functional regarding supply of hot water, the very badly fitted curtain made it impossible to use (see review written in 2013) as the room flooded when the shower was running. The tiled floors became like an ice rink and as such the room was very dangerous to use. When the owner was informed she told us that the curtain had been lowered earlier this year to stop this happening. We have stayed on this urbanisation before and the apartments always had a cubicle. When asked, other tenants told us that they had cubicles also. When our daughter and son-in-law visited with our three year old granddaughter it was placed out of bounds and we shared the one remaining shower. Not ideal. The air conditioning worked perfectly, but, as there is only one unit, above the doors to the terrace, it only cools the lounge area; the bedrooms have ceiling fans only, and it is quite uncomfortable sleeping on hot nights. All the ceiling fans had what appeared to be a heavy build-up of dirt and grease on the fan blades. This again is lack of maintenance and could not be considered as part of the cleaner's duties. Upsetting the dynamic stability of a fan can cause vibration with the consequent problems. We had a major incident when, on a particularly warm evening, following the large central fan being switched to "HIGH", the whole lower metal assembly including the glass globe, came crashing down and smashed on to the coffee table below. Thank goodness no-one was near at the time as it could have caused serious injury. As we had a problem with the door lock anyway, the owner responded very quickly and sent a handyman around to fix the lock, and, he also made the centre fan safe. When booking an apartment all you can base your decision upon is the photographs on the listing. These were obviously old photographs as (at the time of booking) the terrace was shown with four sunbeds all with mattresses, we actually had two sunbeds, one of which was broken and neither of which had mattresses. When asked the owner said "we don't supply them anymore as people didn't look after them". She has since removed the photograph showing the sunbeds. I am sorry, but doesn't this fall under the category "fair wear and tear". The dining table (which when moved, lost a leg) and the array of miss-matched chairs was also nothing like the photograph on the listing. The barbeque, when we arrived, was filthy and very uninviting. The owner replaced it immediately, but the replacement, like the original was far too small to cook for four adults. The pergola was covered in cracked and flaking paint and the bench had not seen any sandpaper or varnish for years. Our granddaughter got a nasty splinter in her leg when she sat on it. Another area out of bounds. Although the terrace is large with amazing views it is not very inviting and was little used. We have been visiting the pueblo now for eleven years and, although not a problem for us, a couple of points worth mentioning: firstly the keys are posted to you at your home address and there is only one set, consequently if the door shuts behind you it locks. There is no meet and greet. You do not have a contact number in Spain. The owner does however respond very quickly. Overall, the apartment is tired and inadequately maintained.
Owner's reply: I am very sorry to hear that our apartment did not meet your expectations and hope it did not spoil your holiday. I always try to keep on top of all of the maintenance and get everything repaired when I am aware there is a problem, I also replace the outdoor furniture every year but due to the constant sunshine everything gets very brittle. My handyman has been in to check all of the problems which you have mentioned and repaired anything which needed it. I am very surprised that you made a comment that the apartment is tired and in need of maintenance as I have had the apartment completely repainted in June this year. I am very surprised and disappointed at the negative feedback when all other reviews that have been received over the last few years have been extremely complimentary. As for the keys these are sent with a stamped addressed envelope to all guest so that the keys can be returned when their holiday is over. I do not have a contact number for anyone in Spain because as soon as I am advised there is a problem I deal with this immediately and get someone in to deal with any problem as required.
“Excellent apartment-great location”
Just returned from a fantastic holiday in this apartment. The apartment was spotlessly clean and a very well equipped kitchen. The patio area was huge and gave magnificent views of the mountains and the sea. I also loved the privacy of the patio, very quiet in the early mornings instead of the usual hotel doors banging and furniture being scraped along the floors above and below you!!! 10-15 min walk to the beautiful pueblo which was great adding a little bit of exercise. Overall a great apartment, very comfortable beds, wouldn't hesitate to return here again and would definitely recommend to family and friends. Excellent and prompt communication with the owner.
“Beautiful apartment in a lovely, quiet location.”
We were very impressed with this lovely spacious apartment. Everything was spotlessly clean with everything that we needed including a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with over the bath shower and another shower room. The living room was very well furnished and decorated with patio doors opening onto a huge high sided balcony with fantastic views over the Costa Del Sol.The apartment was within about a 10-15 minute walk to the village. There was a good bus service at the top of the road so getting around was not a problem. We were very impressed with this accommodation and would definitely book again. We have recommended it to friends as somewhere to enjoy a quiet, relaxing trouble free stay.
“Excellent Apartment-Fantastic Holiday”
We have stayed at this apartment numerous times over the last few years and so have a lot of our friends. We have always found the apartment clean and comfortable and very well equipped for a relaxing holiday. The apartment has one of the best terraces in the area you can just spend all day on there sunbathing and if it gets too hot you can nip down to the magnificent pool to cool off. There is a large table and chairs on the patio so you can dine al-fresco day or night and enjoy the wonderful views from the terrace which stretch right down to the sea. The Pueblo is a 10 minute walk away and is beautiful with quaint spanish streets, orange trees and little squares where the locals sit out, there are numerous bars and restaurants both spanish and english to enjoy. There are buses from the main road to Mijas or down to the lovely little town of Arroyo where you can find lots of shops, bars and restaurants or you can carry on to Benalmadena Costa or even further on to Torremolinos. From Arroyo you can get the train to either Malaga or Fuengirola which are both great places to visit. The area really does have everything you could wish for for a fantastic holiday. We have always found Steph very helpful and friendly and although we have never had any concerns I know she would do her best to put things right if we had. We have just booked this apartment again for June 2014 and would not hesitate to recommend it for a great holiday.
We have stayed at this apartment for the past 5 years and fall in love with the area more each time.. The village is breath taking and the locals are very friendly.. The apartment is very clean and homely and even the neighbours are friendly Very calming apartment and balcony views are beautiful .. cant wait to return next year ..
“The condo had everything we needed, including a huge, privite outside patio”
Truly loved the area, very safe and quite. Beautiful view from the patio, especially at night. Very convenient to the freeway and the Los Mimosa. The Los Mimosa is a British Bar, and Steph, the condo owner is friendly with the bar owner, Barry. Very friendly and informative bar.
