Description

On a small hill with 360o views at foot of Benalmadena Pueblo. It is newly-built, comfortably furnished for two withvspace (472 sq. ft.)with independent staircase, two furnished terraces, one with teak furniture, the other with recliners. It has smart TV, books, full bathroom with shower, kitchen equipped with hobs, worktop oven/grill, Bbq, washing machine, large fridge/freezer, ironing board & iron, hair-dryer, radiators and electric fan. Bedlinen and towels are provided but not personal beach towels. Beds can either be two singles or one double.

The pool of 9m. x 5m. is fitted with a telescopic hard cover. Even in summer the quiet across the valley is broken only by the sound of tennis shots coming from the leisure park for residents only , with large swimming pool, attendant and dressing rooms in Summer. There are riding schools and the Torrequebrada Casino & Golf Course. Good restaurants are within walking distance.

The new TV offers English as well as Spanish channels. Comfortably furnished, Heating is by oil filled electric radiators and ventilation with a fan although the numerous windows usually provide enough air.

There is a well-lit open staircase to the front door, giving guests independence privacy and use of the pool.The terraces are well furnished, there is a barbeque and outside lighting. The parking is easy, the roads quiet, and the grounds well kept. A few minutes away there are two small supermarkets, a universal ATM machine, a postbox, car-hire office , a 4* hotel, bars and restaurants. There are more on the beach walkway, some with tables a few feet away from the waves.

Getting around

COMMUNICATIONS are excellent. Trains run at night during ferias such as the August one in Malaga and the Easter Week Processions. The Benalmadena Feria is held on the hillside opposite and you can join in by hiring a horse ! VIP/FLANDRIA TOURS offer excursions to Gibraltar, Ronda etc. with a pickup point on the coast road opposite the Playabonita, where there is also a local bus stop. There are easy train and coach links to Marbella, Madrid, Gibraltar and the rest of Spain.

Interaction with guest

Usually when landing at Malaga airport, guests find the local Cercanias train to Fuengirola and stop off at Torremuelle station where Jane meets them with the car , leaving the baggage at the appartment and then going on to the Supermarket, if required. Jane is on hand to offer information and advice if asked, prefers a quiet relaxed atmosphere and hardly ever uses the pool.. The owners have lived on the Costa for 20 yrs and Jane knew Marbella in the 50's. Languages spoken include French & some Russian.

“Excellent Stay”

We had a wonderful 5 days. Jane is a lovely lady and fantastic host who really makes you feel welcome. The apartment is extremely spacious, with 2 terraces one being a huge rooftop space! We are looking forward to our next stay x

This was an amazing holiday and the villa was perfect. It had everything you need which made travelling with just hand luggage possible. Jane is the perfect host, incredibly knowlegeble, helpful and always willing to help. I recommend this villa to those who like the peace combined with the opportunity to jump on a train and go wherever or to explore on foot the beautiful surroundings. Car hire is an option of course. The villa is just perfect, feels very homely and I don't have 1 bad thing to say. Book it now! I promise you won't feel let down. Malaga city is a must go place too.

“Perfect location”

My wife and I stayed there for 3 weeks in Jan/Feb. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is a perfect location for touring the local area. Andre, the owner who is a lovely gentleman, met us at the railway station and once we were settled in took us on a guided tour of the area as far as the marina at Benalmadena and then to the supermarket. The main supermarket is just over a mile away and it has everything you might need, we walked there several times and it's an easy walk. There is also a small supermarket just down the road which is ideal for the heavier items like water. The sun terrace has wonderful 360 degree views and on several days we were able to see all the way to the African coast. The railway station is 5 minute walk down the hill and is a real bonus. There are trains in both directions every 20 minutes from early in the morning to late at night and the fares are very reasonable. If you are over 60 buy a gold card at any ticket office, it costs 6 Euros, is valid for 12 months and gets you 40% discount on all fares. Cats have been mentioned in other reviews and yes the owners do have a number of cats. They stay at ground level and never come near the apartment and to be honest we never really noticed they were there. Quite a few of the local bars and restaurants were closed for the winter while we were there so the choice locally was fairly limited but it's so easy just to hop on the train, 10 minutes in one direction you're in Fuengirola and 5 in the other you're in Benalmadena. If you don't mind walking then Benalmadena Pueblo is just over a mile up the hill at the back. It's a lovely old village with some very good restaurants. Thank you Andre for a lovely winter holiday.

“FABULOUS STAY-MORE THAN WE EXPECTED!”

We visted Torremuelle when on holiday in Fuengirola last year and liked the quiet location-looked on Holiday Lettings and found the one bedroomed penthouse. It was reasonably priced and owner stated sole use of the pool so we booked for a two week break in early September. We were not disappointed. The villa (where the penthouse apartment is located) can be seen as you alight Torremuelle station-HOWEVER to get to the apartment you have to climb 70 odd steps to get there. Not a problem if you are able bodied BUT not for anyone with mobility problems-as there are also steps up to the villa and further flight of steps to the apartment. The apartment is a studio apartment with a very large bathroom with bath/shower/toilet and vanity units. The bed was HUGE and was very very comfortable, the bedding was of good quality and the bedside tables had a lamp on each side. The lounge area has a three seater sofa and an armchair, there are a selection of books and videos for occupants use and a very large modern satellite tv-which is VERY easy to use-even for a usually useless person with such things as myself! The kitchen has a new washing machine and a new fridge freezer. It doesnt have an oven but has a 4 ring hob and a new microwave. A kettle and toaster are also provided. There is also a dining table and chairs in the kitchen area. It feels light and airy and all the windows are fitted with outside security blinds and window bars so it also feels VERY secure. The pool is very large and gorgeous and has a stunning views. There is an outside eating area and after a further climb up a spiral metal staircase, there is a further huge terrace which has sun all day. There are 2 sunbeds, the only criticism I can make about up there is the sunbed cushions have seen better days and a previous tenant before us had broken the new sun parasol. The owner Mr. Morlow met us from the train and took our suitcases (and us!) up to the apartment-took us shopping on the first day and delivered us back to the station (with cases) on day of departure. He was there if we needed any help etc. but NEVER interferred or interrupted our stay. He was a very very nice gentleman. We have already booked for our stay next year and cant wait! Torremuelle is a very quiet area but the train service is both reliable and reasonable and can take you to busy resorts e.g.Fuengirola, Torremolinos etc. very quickly and cheaply.

Owner's reply: It would be better if the number of actual steps is not given,since not proven, and that 70 is replaced by "some". The steps can however be avoided by walking 10 minutes along a partly winding road at no discomfort.

We have stayed in appartments and villas all over Spain but this was the best by far! Perfect in every way(the 360 degree sun deck was amazing) with a handfull of bars within walking distance and the station down a short flight of steps-the trains are electric so you dont hear them. Every night we hopped on the train and went to a different destination to explore and have dinner which was great fun.(you could go anywhere along the coast for less than 2 euros) A big thank you to the owner Andre who went out of his way to make our stay memorable. We will return!!!!!
