“Perfect weekend away for four grown ups and a toddler!”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2013

We stayed at the cottage for a university reunion; four thirty something ladies and one toddler! The cottage was just as described and had every amenity that we could have asked for. The accommodation was perfectly roomy, with more than enough space for all of us and the toys which travel with a two year old. We had the fire going both nights, keeping us warm whilst it tried to snow outside. We had a fantastic weekend, and will definitely be returning.

“Attractive property with some drawbacks”

Reviewed 25 Jan 2013

Lovely position in pretty village. Attractive house with enclosed garden with adequate space for 6 adults. Parking is an issue if your party has more than one car, difficult to unload/load cars without blocking the road. Huge garage but doors do not open fully therefore we were unable to use it. Disappointing not to have any Christmas tree or decoration of any kind. Excellent supply of crockery but not enough cutlery to enable you to have a three-course meal. Only one pillow supplied per bed, eventually found two more but everyone else had to use cushions. No double duvet on one of the double beds, just two singles. Creaky bed woke me every time I turned over. Extremely low doorways on second floor and ceiling on stairs to second floor.

“Our weekend break at Waterend Barn was everything we hoped it would be.”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2012

I stayed with my daughter, her 3 children ages 6,7,14 and my niece (24) for three nights. We all thoroughly enjoyed all the home comforts of the cottage. The children especially loved the novelty of having the attic to themselves, and didn't want to leave! We found it to be a very friendly village, Horse riders and dog walkers who passed by all stopped for a chat and one kind lady told us about the 'secret garden' where we spent a very happy afternoon. We all benefited from the peace and quiet, just listening to the birds singing and sheep talking to each other, made a very welcome break from the suburbs of Birmingham. The cottage is clean and cosy, we had a lovely time and hope to return one day.
