Chapel Mews is one half of a Grade II listed former chapel with great views over the surrounding countryside. It has a large, open plan living/dining room and kitchen with comfy sofas.

2 good sized bedrooms - one Super King or Twin and one smaller Double.

Easy access to all areas of Derbyshire and the Peak District.

Belper town centre with independent shops, restaurants, pubs and a cinema are all within walking distance

Very good WI-FI and we offer lower rates for stay of 7 nights or longer.

This large 2 bedroom, grade 2 listed former chapel makes for a great stay in the historic Derbyshire mill town of Belper which has great amenities and transport links to The Peak District.

Furnished with a mix of vintage and modern pieces and a few cosy touches to make you feel at home.

The ground floor is a spacious, open plan space with tall 3m high ceilings that you might expect from an old chapel. The kitchen is very well equipped with a range cooker, microwave and dishwasher and plenty of crockery and utensils. There is a coffee machine and we provide free tea and filter coffee.

There are plenty of books, a few games and a smart TV to entertain you during your stay. We also have WI-FI with a very good signal.

The open staircase that leads from the rear of the ground floor has a big window that offers great views and there is a galleried landing at the top.

Upstairs the master bedroom has a super king size bed that can be split into 2 singles (just let us know if you need it making up as single beds). The second bedroom has a comfortable double bed and benefits from views over the surrounding countryside.

Both bedrooms are big enough to accommodate an infants travel cot which we can provide on request.

There is a double sofa bed in the living room which we provide bedding for when the booking is for 5 or 6 people or on request.

There is one family bathroom with the shower over the bath. The shower has good pressure and is on a hose so can be lowered for those who don't want to get wash their hair every day! Outside, there is a small decking area at the front of the house with garden furniture so you will be able to sit outside with your morning coffee or a bottle of wine on a warm evening.

Free on-road parking is directly outside the front of the chapel and there is always space for more than one vehicle within a few metres with no parking restrictions. The house is one half of the original chapel building and the small drive on the side is our neighbours.

If you travel by public transport Belper train Station and the main bus depot are less than a mile away.

We send out further information on local restaurants and places of interest when your booking is paid for and your contact details are released to us and are happy to help with any special requests. There are books and maps with plenty of Derbyshire walks in the chapel when you arrive plus good Wi-Fi to research the area further if you wish.

There is no washing machine at the property but there are launderettes within 5 miles who will provide a pick up and drop off service should you need it. The fridge freezer is small so it is best to shop little often when you are here. Local supermarkets and deli's are within walking distance.

Belper is home to Derwent Valley Mills which is now a World Heritage site and the town won a high street award a few years ago.

Getting around

Once you are here the town is within walking distance (if a little hilly!!) and takes no more than 15 minutes so there is no need for you to have a car. A local bus runs a circular route during the day with the bus stop opposite the chapel if the walk is a little too much. There is also free parking in the town at the back of the marketplace and on Derwent Street. If you have a car travel to all areas of the Peak district is very easy. Public transport is also very good with trains and buses easily accessible. Local taxi's are also very reasonably priced.

Strictly no smoking or parties. This is a residential area and noise travels easily to the house next door so we ask that you respect our neighbours and keep late night noise to a minimum. Sorry no pets.
