- Very Good
Cottage was absolutely wonderful. All the facilities you could ask for. Took my wife there for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. Plenty of places to visit within driving range.
“Great location for coastal toute”
Cottage could do with a bit of tlc especially the bathroom. Disappointed with state of outside patio furniture also cleanliness washing machine drawer not good.
Beautiful property in a lovely area. Will be back in the future. Close to many lovely beaches and bays.
“Homely, comfy, and peaceful, a charming retreat.”
Easy to find. Ample parking. Quiet, when the trains aren't running, but you do get used to them. Perfect for anyone who loves railways at all. The cottage is very well equipped, with everything we needed, and more. It was warm, comfy sofa and chairs, bed first class, lovely clean linen. Cottage is rustic, bot we thought that was part of it's charm. Well situated for Holly Island, Lindisfarne, and Farne Islands. Lots of great walking and castles close by.
“perfect weekend base”
Perfect for us as a weekend base. We knew the area well as we had lived in Whickham until 3 years ago.The house was warm and welcoming and supplied with all we might need. The bed in the front bedroom was very comfortable. Lovely big kitchen and sitting room. Not sure about a longer stay as the trains first thing Monday morning were very close and the noise intrusive. We were aware of how close the railway was as we had googled the area and came prepared with ear plugs, but overnight we didn't hear any. It was the perfect situation for us as we were attending a wedding at Doxford, so not too far to travel after the evening do.
