“Excellent characterful French house in great location.”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2016

Great property in excellent location for visiting nearby locations in Pyrenees, especially as we found for us, the mountain walking area of Lescun. Lots of space inside house, only two of us so we positively rattled around! We loved the 'old style' decor and furnishings - it does have a modern bathroom! So well appointed, had every 'supply' you could possibly want, would otherwise have to go out and buy or forgot to bring with you. The pool was wonderful, especially at the end of a hot days walking (and weather did get hot!). Local shops and next village supermarket will provide almost everything you'll need, though as veggies we appreciated trip to large LeClerc in Oloron. Excellent local English speaking backup just around the corner in Bedous. So much more to see in Pyrenees, will go again.

Owner's reply: So pleased you enjoyed the house and found the area as enchanting as we do!

“Dinan Ramblers Adventure”

Eight of us used Aisling as a base for our first visit to the Pyrenees to try out some of the well known Tour de France Cols. We made it over Col de Marie Blanque (10km down the road), Col d’Aubisque (55km next door valley) and Col de Tourmalet (125km - a bit of a trek) – all spectacular!! La Pierre St Martin was 27 km away in Vallee Baretous but we ran out of time. The house was great for a large group and was right in the middle of the village. Excellent and great value food in Chez Michel’s restaurant around the corner. The Mayabor bar has a friendly host in the form of Daniel and Lisa does a great Asian menu if you book in advance. Jane in the B&B in the square did some killer full Irish breakfasts for us too. Pool was great for cooling down after long rides and the owners opened up additional finished bedrooms in the work-in-progress attic conversion so no double bed sharing!!

“Lovely character house wonderful location”

The house was very comfortable a home from home .the garden was beautiful with a lovely pool to relax in whilst taking in the breathtaking views .it was especially nice to be in a village location where you could wald to local shops bar and restaurants .

“Beautiful house, lovely surroundings, a great place to get away from it all.”

This is our second stay at this lovely house, we will no doubt be back again next year as we love it so much. Bedous is such a pretty place it is hard not to fall in love with it, the thing I miss most when back in the UK is the wonderful mountain views & the peace & quiet. The house has a great little swimming pool to relax in which is just what the doctor ordered after a long day walking. So far we have only been during the warmer weather but the house it quite well placed for some of the local ski resorts so we may well give the winter season a go in the future. There are plenty of things to do in the area & it is great for walkers & anyone who likes photography. The house is also well situated if you want to pop over to Spain for a day trip (about an hour's drive though the Somport tunnel).
