“Terrific place and lovely people”

This was a short break for us to relax away from the rush of normal life - and that is just how it turned out. The Lodge was clean and comfortable, Chris and Diane are so friendly and helpful and so are the guys who work at TMC. Lovely area - highly recommend this holiday.

“Immaculate - a great place to stay”

Stayed at Valley View - an immaculately clean and beautifully presented cottage. Hot tub was spotless. Excellent location with interesting walks from the doorstep. Birch Hall Inn, a stone's throw away, was like stepping back in time. Ten out of ten.

“Moors”

This was our first time visiting and will definitely be back moor view cottage was beautiful as was the location so many places to visit all in driving distance or you can just chill out in the wonderful surroundings

“Excellent in every respect”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2017

Booked Moor View which is a lovely cottage, home from home, clean and cosy. The name is appropriate as the picture window affords a good view of the moors with the distant sound of trains passing by from time to time. An excellent base to explore all the NYM has to offer. Sea and sand at Whitby, Sandsend & Saltburn by the Sea, countryside in abundance with plenty of walks, quaint villages and the railways stations. The big draw for us was the railways real and for modellers (excellent TMC model shop on site at Hill Farm). The owners are very helpful and friendly and locals are the same. The Birch Hall Inn (just down the hill) is a must see too. Definitely recommend Hill Farm and plan to visit again.

“Fabulous”

We stayed in the Dairy for a long family weekend with our dogs. It was perfect we couldn't fault the accommodation at all. It was decorated to a high standard with quality furnishings and immaculately clean. The location was ideal for us too with walks along footpaths which ran by the side of the railway and river close by. Just one mile away from Goathland and its attractions. The smallest pub Ive ever seen at the bottom of the hill with a very warm welcome waiting. Everything you could possibly need for a very enjoyable holiday We will certainly be back.

“Panoramic views with a sound difference in the Yorkshire Dales.”

Hill Farm Cottages in the heart of North Yorkshire, close to the historic town of Whitby is where you will find the most delightful accommodation for a relaxing holiday. The Lodge had excellent modern facilities, all to a very high standard, with stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales. It was lovely to sit out on the terrace and listen to the whistle of the steam train chuffing by and reminisce of bye gone years of steam travel. Chris and Diane were perfect hosts and could not have been more helpful to ensure our holiday was perfect. TMC the UK premiere model railway weathering centre and shop is a train enthusiasts paradise. The well stocked shop has to be seen to be believed. The staff were friendly and very knowledge and experts within all things modelling. We will be returning for another holiday very soon to enjoy the luxurious surroundings and the friendly atmosphere.

“A Welcome Break from the Norm......”

Reviewed 15 Jun 2017

Just a four hour drive and arrival at Moorview. Unfortunately, I had managed to bring a bad cold with me and this prevented sleeping on the incredibly thick mattress of the king size bed for the first four days. I had to sleep upright on the leather settee instead. The view through the big windows was great and I could hear the chuffing of the trains as they went past. I could see a great deal of time and effort had been put in to making things as comfortable as possible for guests. The 'information pack' was useful and any other queries were covered by WIFi internet access. A visit to the local pub was a must. The walk down was easy but we both suffered on the way back. I guess that's what happens when you are based in the Fens ! Spent two days wandering around the lanes and alleyways of Whitby but missed out on the Dr. Crank walk. There is so much to do and so little time to do it. I think it means another visit is on the cards at this location.

Beautiful accommodation in stunning scenery, all scores 10 out of 10 with me, hot tub was lovely, perfect end to perfect days, lazing in the tub with a wine, as always Chris and Diane the perfect hosts, sadly never made it to Birch hall Inn this time but will return once more.. Be ready Chris!, We never tire of Hill farm, if you have never been you don't know what you are missing, 5 star Plus.

“Back for the 3rd time but first time in the Lodge - Great”

Great accommodation and beautiful location. Handy for both Whitby and Scarborough and easy run to local attractions. Lodge is great.
