“Lovely location in the heart of Burgogne”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2016

The apartment was very well equipped and within easy access to all the town of Beaune offered. Two double bedrooms with lots of storage. Good shower. Very quiet at night. Beware doggy does outside on the footpath in the morning on your way to the patisserie. Access is via a spiral stone staircase which takes some negotiating with luggage.

“Typically French in Charming Beaune”

Reviewed 17 Dec 2015

This charming, cosy apartment with it's winding stairs is in the heart of Beaune, close to an array of restuarants, wine caves, cafe's and the local market. The apartment is tastefully decorated with a French flair and is equipped with all mod con's.

“Great apartment in a great location”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2015

We spent five days in Beaune. We were extremely pleased with the location of this apartment - inside the old part of the city and so close to everything. The apartment also had everything you needed for a comfortable stay - if you want to cook the kitchen was good and if you need to wash clothes it had a washing machine. The only two things that detracted were the heat and the stairs. We had 30+ degrees days and unfortunately the apartment does not ventilate well and being on the top floor gets all of the heat. It was stifling on some days. The second thing are the stairs. We were travelling for a month and so had quite a bit of luggage. The stairs were a challenge. We are both very fit but if you are not the stairs would be a problem. Otherwise I would totally recommend this apartment.

“Well located apartment in beautiful town”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2015

Four of us - myself, my husband, his sister and a friend - spent 5 great days in this cute apartment in Beaune. The apartment is on the top floor of a typical old building with a stone spiral staircase leading to it. There is a large living area, well equipped kitchen and two good bedrooms. We also used the sofa bed in the living room and found this all worked well. It was great to have a washing machine as well. Graeme, the owner, sent us information about the apartment and the local area. Finding the apartment was easy, and instructions re entry and keys etc were clear. There are many restaurants nearby, and we also ate at home some days using produce from the local boulangeries, charcuterie, and the great Saturday market. All attractions within Beaune are an easy walk. We also enjoyed walking around the ramparts. Having a car, we were able to tour the local countryside and villages. We were able the park the car for free just a few minutes away from the apartment. It was unusually very hot while we were there - over 35 degrees every day - however the fans in the apartment helped , and the large Velux windows allowed the apartment to cool overnight Overall, the apartment was a great place to stay, close to everything within Beaune, easy to find, and comfortable.

“Fantastic Apartment for Families”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Appartement Rose - it had everything we needed and plenty of space for our family of 5. We loved the old building it is located in - such a splendid setting inside the remparts of Beaune. Grocery shopping was easy and the Saturday market in the Centre was also a fun way to shop.

“Excellent location, clean apt”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2015

The owner, Graeme, was consistently helpful from before we even booked the apt. His tips and advice were spot on, and we had a wonderful stay in beautiful Beaune! Just a word of caution; our young children loved our visit as well, but those with very young kids (in buggies) will have a difficult time storing and carrying the buggies up to the apt, as you need to pass through very narrow staircases (one of them is spiral). You probably wouldn't want very large suitcases either for the same reason. We greatly enjoyed the family run restaurant, La Ciboulette, just down the street from the apt. Great food, very friendly service (kid friendly as well), but reservation is recommended as it seemed very popular even during off season. We also had a wonderful lunch further downtown at Loiseau des Vignes, which has a Michelin star, but for lunch, it was just dressed down enough for us to enjoy our meal with our preschoolers as well.

“Great apartment, great location.”

Reviewed 5 Mar 2015

The apartment is certainly well located in a lovely town. A few minutes walk to the centre, and lots of famous sites to see, and things to do, including tasting wine. The apartment is up stairs, a stone spiral staircase at first, and then a flight of wooden stairs. The accommodation is very comfortable - a large living space which includes a comfortable lounge area (TV etc), dining area, and well appointed kitchen. We like to cook some meals and were able to do so with all of the cooking equipment needed, plenty of good crockery and cutlery, and of course good wine glasses.

“Superb host, superb apartment.”

Reviewed 29 Sep 2014

Beaune has history, art, culture and most especially, Beaune has Apartment Rose. Every one of those is an outstanding reason to stay in Beaune but for comfort, attention to detail and beautiful fixtures and fittings, it's Apartment Rose which I recommend to you. Thanks to my ineptitude, we had difficulty finding the apartment - I left the printed details behind in Australia. We managed BUT at eight o'clock next morning, Graeme phoned to ensure that we had, in fact, settled in. I have NEVER had such a caring service anywhere in the world. Never. I urge you not to hesitate. Book early, book with confidence and don't forget to take the entry details with you. This one is a stand-out in the world of apartment rentals and I will always be grateful to Graeme for making it so.

“A great place to stay”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2014

When we arrived we were met by the owners, Judy & Graeme Rose, who were about to return to Australia. They were just as helpful and keen to ensure a successful stay for us as they had been when we were arranging our booking many months ago. The apartment was in immaculate condition and contains everything one could wish for, including a free landline connection to just about anywhere in the world together with Smart and cable TV. All of the best appliances are provided including a built in wine cooler for those who need it. A very comprehensive set of notes is provided for the use of all facilities. The living area is quite spacious, and the two bedrooms with their ample storage space are light and airy. We loved the colour coordination throughout the apartment. The obvious care that has been taken to create a welcoming environment helped to make our stay so enjoyable. Beaune is a beautiful town full of history and this apartment is in the centre of it, inside the ancient ramparts. The Hotel Dieu is famous but the town is also full of buildings dating back to the 12th century. Great food and wine are of course an essential part of the visit. Outside the walls is the magnificent countryside of the Côte d'Or, the vines, the chateaux and the lovely villages. A great place for a holiday.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your feedback regarding the condition of our beds. Following your comments we have now installed mattress protectors on all beds and - having tested them ourselves - find that they are very comfortable indeed.

“Wonderful Apartment in a Perfect Location”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2014

The apartment is located in the center of Beaune, within walking distance of everything you would need. The kitchen is extremely well appointed, with it's own wine cooler as well. Living room is quite comfortable, with a nice sound system for the cable TV. Each of the bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds. Graeme was a delight to work with, and was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We look forward to a return trip to Beaune, and a stay at Apartment Rose.
