Location description from owner

The England region

Dorset is famous for the Jurassic Coast; tourists visit for fossil hunting and its stunning coastal scenery. West Bay is known as its Golden Gateway and is a popular setting for many films and TV programmes, most recently Broadchurch and Far From the Madding Crowd. Another family favourite is beautiful Lyme Regis with its sandy and pebble beaches, bustling 'Cobb' harbour, array of independent shops and its many annual events such as a Jazz Festival and a Regatta & Carnival Week. Beer village is not to be missed - why not hire a deckchair and enjoy an ice cream whilst watching the boats, or enjoy a Dorset cream tea in a local cafe.

Beaminster

Drimpton village is ideally situated in Dorset near to the borders with Devon and Somerset. Broadwindsor is less than a 10 minute drive away with its community run shop and its welcoming pub, The White Lion. Don't miss a visit to the Broadwindsor Craft & Design Centre with its handful of gorgeous shops and studios, and its cafe. Beaminster offers independent shops, traditional grocery stores, cafes and a farmers market. Furleigh Estate in Salway Ash- who make some of the best sparkling wine in the country - runs wine tasting tours on Fridays and Saturdays (check first), and wine tasting Mondays to Saturdays. Children may like to visit Beaminster where there are donkey walks and walking with llamas. Mapperton House and Gardens was voted 'The Nation's Finest Manor House' by Country Life magazine - it boasts an Italianate garden and fountains, fishponds an orangery and summerhouses. There is a licensed cafe and gifts and plant shop.
