Through a second archway is the well-equipped Kitchen, which has an electic oven and gas hob, a dishwasher, washer/drier and fridge with ice-box. A good selection of quality pans, kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery is provided. Central heating and hot water are provided by a gas-fired boiler.

Up two steps from the living room is the double aspect Garden Room, with a further sofa and a door into the garden. A small freezer is located here.

Upstairs (via a steeply curved staircase) you will find three bedrooms: a double with TV/DVD and window seat, a twin, also with a window seat, and a single.

The Bathroom has been updated and features a bath with shower over.

The rear garden has a paved terrace with steps leading to a gravelled seating area surrounded by flower beds, shrubs and trees. It is enclosed by a stone wall and has a stand that can be used for a disposable barbecue.

Children are welcome, and there are permanent retractable stair gates at both the top and bottom of the stairs. We have a cot and high chair that can be set out upon request.

The cottage is in easy strolling distance of Beaminster's bustling square, which offers a variety of independent shops and restaurants. Whilst it pre-dates the era of allocated parking, on-street parking is always available a little further up the road. Guests are welcome to access the internet via our WiFi connection.

This corner of West Dorset is a favourite with TV and film producers. Many of the local pubs, restaraunts and shops will be familiar to 'River Cottage' fans and, of course, their Park Farm HQ and Axminster 'Canteen' are both nearby. Broadchurch is filmed just down the road in West Bay, and the new film version of Hardy's 'Far from the Madding Crowd' was filmed at nearby Mapperton House. (We even accomodated some of their production crew!).

Location description from owner

The England region

Beaminster is a charming small town situated some eight miles inland from the Jurassic Coast. It is an ideal location for exploring this beautiful part of Britain, with easy access to the beach at places such as Burton Bradstock, West Bay and Lyme Regis.

There are plenty of other local towns to explore, from Dorchester in the East to Axminster in the West. Nearby Bridport is always interesting, with its Saturday street market, Palmer's brewery and working harbour at West Bay.

Mapperton House is nearby, as is the original 'River Cottage' near Netherbury.

Beaminster

Primrose Cottage is situated on a quiet street immediately off the main square in Beaminster. All of the local amenities are within easy reach - the town's shops include a butcher, a baker, a patisserie, a greengrocer, a deli and a Co-op supermarket. There are also many other shops catering for a variety of interests.

Fine dining is provided by Brassica restaurant and the Bridge House Hotel, both of which get excellent reviews. Slightly less up-market are the Bombay Spice tandoori, Amei Chinese take away and Kingfisher fish and chips, all of which are good.

There are also three pubs within easy walking distance - The Red LIon, The Greyhound and the Knap Hill Inn - all of which serve food.
