Location description from owner

The England region

The Northumberland coast with some breathtaking white sandy beaches is one of the UK's best kept secrets. Northumberland is one of the of the most beautiful counties and Beadnell provides a fantsatic base for exploring all that the region has to offer.

As the border county Northumberland has a number of castles and historic sites including Alnwick Castle (a short drive from Beadnell) which is home to the Percy family and features in a number of films including Harry Potter. Bamburgh castle which is approx 5 miles from Beadnell is one of the finest castles in the country.

The area is also perfect for exploring the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh is a fantastic day trip.

Beadnell

Beadnell is a very popular beach destination which appeals to young and old, from simple activities such as sand castle making on the large sandy beahch and rockpool exploring to the more adventurous kite surfing in Beadnell Bay or scuba diving with seals on the Farne Islands there is something to keep everyone entertained.

There are a good number of scenic walks from Beadnell and a number of golf courses within a short drive.

For seafood lovers we highly recommend heading to Seahouses for fish so fresh you can literally watch it coming in off the boats or Craster for some of the best kippers you have ever tasted.

“Lovely house in an ideal location. Perfect for 3 generations all under one roof!”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2012

The owner is very helpful, informative and professional. The house itself is lovely and has plenty of space with the two separate sitting rooms as well as enough bathrooms to avoid any queuing. We spent a great week there with family aged from 5 to 70 and all enjoyed themselves. It is ideally located with a short walk to a long sandy beach as well as rock pools, and there is plenty to do within a short drive along the coast if you want other activities. We couldn't believe we'd never been to Northumberland before and have all said we'd love to return again.

“An excellent family beach holiday”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2012

An excellent family holiday to which the house made an huge contribution. The house itself is large enough for a big family and well equipped with all you'll need. The beaches and rockpools are all within 200 yards and the surrounding area has masses of interesting places to visit. Thanks to the owner who from the time of booking to the end of our holiday was most attentive.

Thanks for a great review Ian, I am glad you had a good week, best wishes Caroline
