Location description from owner

The England region

The North Northumberland coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of sandy beaches, Castles standing guard over the coast, wildlife breeding grounds for grey seals and puffins to name just a couple.
Gateway to the Farne Islands Seahouses is a bustling harbour catering for both the small local fishing fleet and visitor boats taking day trippers, orthothologists and photographers 2 miles offshore to the outcrop of Farne Islands.

15 miles south is the dominent Alnwick Castle with its world famous Garden, Inland are more castles, historical battle fields like Flodden, fantastic walking in the Cheviots, and sections of long walks pass through the area like the end of the Pennine Way, St. Oswald's Way, St. Cuthberts Way.

Cycle routes around quiet local lanes or chunks of longer rides like the Coast and Castle route 1 between Newcastle and Edinburgh. All of which make this a county of many facets, there is literally something for everyone, young or old, activity orientated or sightseeing mad there is just loads to see and do .

Beadnell

Renowned for its beautiful sweeping sandy bay with miles of sand - perfect for building sand castle and paddling. Watersports are well catered for here too as the bay has its own boat launch facility, kite surfers are fast making this their north east home and the little yacht club regularly holds races off shore during the season.

Beadnell has a breathtaking gently shelving bay and boasts the only harbour on England’s East coast whose entrance actually faces West. Two preserved 19th century lime kilns “stand guard” over the little harbour.

With a village shop, the Village Pantry Cafe, the Craster Arms and The Towers Hotel and the recently built by local fundraising the village park all within walking distance of St Ebba's Peep, Beadnell really is a super location for that family holiday by the sea.

Birdwatchers too are very well catered for with an abundance of waders and nesting terns in season.

Golf in the area is superb, with many links and parkland courses with spectacular views and testing courses there is something for every level and all with easy commuting - Seahouses being the closest is just 1km away, Bamburgh 2.5km and Dunstanburgh approx 4km. and for the young at heart there's always the crazy golf at the Bunker in Seahouses, to while away an afternoon.

We have just arrived home from this cottage and I have to say it is amazing. From the moment we pulled onto the allocated parking space we could see it was a nice place to be. It is a lovely warm cottage, very comfortable with plenty of room inside. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, chocolates and other treats. There is a lovely walk in shower room with sink and toilet and another bathroom upstairs with a bath and shower over the top, so no waiting to use the bathroom . Lots of hot water, and nice towels. What I thought was a nice touch was that the owner even had a bag ready for the doggy guest which included towels for wiping paws, poo bags a dinner bowl spare lead and toys. How nice. There is a lovely little cafe just across the road so when my Sister and I went for early beach walks the boys sneaked over there for the "full English". Next door is a nice pub with a good outside seating area. It was busy on a Saturday night so don't presume you can just walk in.we met up with friends at a later date and went back on their quiz night. Nice food . What I loved the most is that you can stroll through the houses and be st Beadell bay within minutes. Bliss. An ideal place to start off for a walk , play with the dog, fly a kite, build sand castles. I could go on and on and guess I have. All I can say is that we will be returning if we get the chance. Thank you for everything Julia.

Thank you so much Sue for such a lovely review , hope you will all be able to get back in the near future , id love for you all to be able to stay in the cottage again . Thank you so much for leaving the cottage as you found it , the cleaners had an easy turn around. Look forward to hearing from you again . Many thanks Kind regards Julie

Our weeks stay at St Ebbas Peep was superb, very close to the beach and great pub on your doorstep which provides good hospitality and great food. The quality of the cottage is exceptional. We decided to visit as a group of friends for my wife's 40th birthday. Great location to explore a beautiful part of the country.

Thank you for your kind review, so pleased you enjoyed your stay in St Ebba's peep in Beadnell hope you will be able to stay again in the future. Many thanks Julie

“Excellent well, worth going again and again”

The cottage had a welcoming gift of wine, chocolates and even doggy treatrs. The cottage was all you could want very well furnished with everything you would need.. It is ideally situated for Bamburgh, Alnwick, Farne Islands and Holy Island. The beach nearby is perfect for walking. There is nothing I have bad to say about this cottage even though the weather was horrible.

So sorry the weather wasn't to good for you but pleased you enjoyed your stay in St Ebba's Peep in Beadnell in Northumberland, hopefully you will come and stay in the Cottage again in the future and the weather will be good for you. Thank you for leaving the Cottage as you found it. Kind regards Julie
