“Une très belle découverte”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2016

“P E R F E C T - What an amazing place!”

We just spend the most amazing week at this beautiful place! What a fantastic house! Each and every detail is designed with taste and a great sense of style. The decor is fantastic and everything is of highest quality. Everything was perfectly clean and the kitchen was as beautiful as practical and stocked with everything you need for cooking a great meal. The hosts speak perfect English and are very friendly and will recommend on interesting places to visit. The welcome gift of Cidre and the Bio-eggs was very much appreciated...just as the service from the local bakery, who brought fresh baguette and Croissants to our doorstep every morning. We loved the outdoor Sauna and the boys and lots to do playing with the animals or playing with the boat on the little lake. The location is very quiet and beautiful..offering great walks right from the doorstep, but within a couple of minutes you can reach all the main routes and it's never far to the main sites. A place that we can only highly recommend and will return to soon! I rarely found a property better in reality than it already appeared on pictures but this one is worth every Euro! Merci for a great week!!

“A perfect, relaxing getaway in the beautiful French countryside.”

The owners were so welcoming and went above and beyond with their services to make our stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. The guesthouse is perfect for families and our 3 teenagers loved it!

“AMAZING rental”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2016

We stayed in this home for the weekend while we explored the D-day beaches with my parents. We arrived to a home cooked meal (because they knew we were travelling that night from Paris) which was delicious and several dozen fresh farm eggs for the morning. A fire was in the hearth and we immediately sat down to an amazing meal and delicious glass of wine by the open fire. Mathias had warmed up the amazingly relaxing hot tub for the family to enjoy and we could NOT believe how beautiful and clean the apartment was. It felt more like a 5* hotel with crisp clean bedding and towels. The kids awoke to explore the farm with my parents while we enjoyed a delicious coffee. The rental had everything you could possibly need. We LOVED will be hard pressed to find a rental like this anywhere els in the world. Thank you for an amazing stay!

“Beautiful gite, lovely people”

It's hard to fault Samuelle and Mattias' beautiful home. It's stylish, comfortable, warm and inviting, and set on beautiful sprawling grounds that are breathtaking on a sunny day. The beds are big and comfortable; the kitchen well-appointed; and the decor and ambiance top-notch. The attention to detail and quality of furnishings is impeccable. The owners are helpful, friendly and welcoming. Honestly, it's a wonderful, wonderful place to stay and I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting to balance the exploration of Normandy and its beaches with a bit of countryside idyll. My only suggestion is that for people travelling with small children, the numerous steps and hard surfaces can be a bit tricky. It might be helpful for a single stair gate to be provided to future guests hoping to keep their little ones contained in the lounge. We managed fine by hanging out in the kitchen, but a bit more assurance our little one wouldn't tumble down the steps would have meant a bit more time relaxing upstairs. Other than that, perfection!

“Very hospitable owners and a beautiful, comfortable property”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2015

We visited Normandy specifically to visit the D-Day beaches and museums and Le Clos de Blisse is perfectly situated for this, just 15-20 minutes away from the coast. We also made trips to Caen, Bayeux and Mont St. Michel (just an hour and half away), so it's a great location to cover lots of other places also. Samuelle & Mathias were very welcoming when we arrived and gave us lots of useful information about the area as well as some delicious local goodies to enjoy. The house was spotlessly clean, very, very comfortable, especially when it turned a bit chilly and we had a cosy log fire going, and was very well equipped with everything we needed- even a choice of coffee makers! We had our own private entrance and garden but it was nice to know that Mathias and Samuelle were close if we had any questions or problems. I would highly recommend Le Clos de Blisse and I will definitely be returning.

We enjoyed an excellent holiday in this very comfortable gite. Samuelle and Mathias were very warm and welcoming - from breakfast pastries delivered to our kitchen window every morning to freshly cooked clams on the evening after we had had a long day out on a D Day tour. Perfect! The gite has been thoughtfully furnished and equipped. It is ideally placed for visiting the D Day sites and only an hours drive from Caen along the N13. We would highly recommend this gite - and it's owners.

“Perfect hosts, attention to detail, great base for Normandy”

What a wonderful place, what a wonderful welcome we had from Samuelle and Mathias. The interior has such taste and attention to detail. It is a fantastic base to explore the Normandy area, especially the D Day story. We and our friends felt very cosy and at home in our holiday home. We especially loved the comfortable and spacious beds and the daily fresh bread delivery. The boys loved the fishing and the girls loved the hot tub which Mathias very kindly kept to our desired temperatures! You will not be disappointed in booking this property and we sincerely wish this lovely family the very best for the future and hope to return one day.
