“Very enjoyable short break on 'Topsy'”
Mark and Lynda provided excellent tuition and couldn't have been more helpful throughout our trip. The boat was very well equiped and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the canal and would certainly do it again.
“A memorable experience on a fantastic boat”
My family and I spent just a night on Topsy. It is a beautiful boat. Mark and Lynda are great hosts, leaving a a lovely welcome pack of coffee, tea, prose do etc. The boat has some outstanding luxurious features that you don't find on many other hire boats such as a full size jacuzzi bath, log burner and a 1980s Bang & Olufsen Beocenter hi-fi complete with an eclectic mix of vinyl albums. It's a perfect base for exploring Bath and the surrounding area and if you're not actually going boating a great fun alternative to a hotel or bed and breakfast.
“An unforgetable way to see in 2016!”
An amazing short break to see in the New Year and one we will always remember with great affection. Topsy is a charming boat and has everything on board to make your stay very enjoyable. Mark and Linda were extremely helpful and made sure all our needs were catered for.
What a wonderful way to spend a few days relaxing. The boat was absolutely beautiful and everything had been thought of to the smallest details to make our stay comfortable. The fact that we had WIFI on board too was a real unexpected bonus. The area is stunning and the slow pace of life on the canal is a very welcome change! Mark was a wonderful host. So charming and helpful in every way. He made the hand over of the boat so easy. Thoroughly recommend a holiday on lovely Topsy. We'll be back soon too. Thanks Mark for a lovely time.
“beautiful boat in a wonderful location”
We have just returned from a 3 day rental on Topsy with 2 of our friends . Lynda and mark were lovely and informative prior to our setting off. The boat is beautiful and has everything you would need for a wonderful vacation including a fantastic collection of movies and records. The beds were fantastically comfortable as was the bedding. Thank you Lynda and mark for the wonderful food hamper we received onboard. The scenery along the bath and avon canal was superb and we had a couple of great meals at the boat inn (just a 3 minute walk from the boat mooring). Just be prepared for the locks as some can be quite heavy, but they were worth doing to get on the canal past Widcombe when you get into the countryside as the scenery is stunning from the water.
“Wonderful 4 days on Topsy”
We had a great trip on Topsy. Mark and Lynda couldnt have been more helpful in the pre-trip briefing and the barge was in beautiful condition. The trip up the canal via Bradford upon Avon was delightful, and the sedate pace along with the luxury of the barge, made it a wonderful experience. The kids all loved the locks and the swing bridges and the great weather was the icing on the cake. Many thanks.
“Top marks for Topsy!”
Topsy offers a floating boutique experience and the owners have created a chic quality service with many splendid touches. We had envious looks from other canal users and no shortage of people who wanted to know more about Topsy. Our route took us out from historic Bath on the River Avon and then on to the K&A Canal, a quintessential tranquil part of English countryside, with great places to stop. We took family for the first part of the trip including Luke, our 8 year old grandson, who took to the experience like a duck to water. Topsy has on board entertainment to cater for all ages and we were never short of things to do. We were blessed with Spring sunshine but you could still really enjoy Topsy whatever the weather.
“40th Birthday Weekend”
Excellent time had by all. The boat was great...well kitted out and in a beautiful spot. I would definitely think about booking again. Cosy, with a wealth of records, films, and near to Bath town centre. Thanks for the breakfast basket - spot on!
“Wonderful luxurious break on a beautiful boat”
I cannot recommend Topsy and Lazy Daze Cruises enough! We spent two days on the boat which was fully equipped with everything you could need. It's warm and cosy with a coal fire and comfy furniture. The boat was lovely inside and so spacious and was also spotlessly clean. Our host made us feel really welcome and was happy for us to take over the steering etc and we quickly mastered the locks! The scenery is wonderful in this area and we met lots of friendly ducks and swans! I will be booking to come back with my family next year.
“Topsy is tops!”
What a lovely week! First, the scenery between Bath and Foxhangers is so beautiful that you cannot help but feel peaceful. Second, the fun of operating the locks encourages a camaraderie with fellow canal boaters and passers by who are happy to help out with gates etc. Third, we found a great pub on each evening so enjoyed som e chat with locals and some great food. Finally, and most importantly, what a wonderful boat Topsy is! She is so well equipped and furnished that it really was like a home from home. I was slightly nervous about the width but she handled beautifully and looked after us so well that we really felt that we had enjoyed a five star without any compromises. Thank you Topsy, Mark and Lynda, we hope to see you again soon!
