Luxury shepherds hut in the grounds of 17th century farmhouse by the River Chew in the Chew Valley about 30 minutes from Bath, 20 minutes from Bristol and Wells.

A perfect rural retreat with fabulous views across to the river, a private hot tub and garden for relaxation. In a stunning location with beautiful walks in all directions and ideally located for exploring Bristol, Bath and Wells.

The hut has underfloor heating, a log burner, ensuite bathroom and a kitchen equipped with all the essentials. Outside space with Kadai fire pit/barbq

ABOUT THE SHEPHERDS HUT;

Bye Mills shepherd hut is in the old fashioned garden of Bye Mills Farm nestling in between the vegetable and herb garden with views either across the fruit trees of the garden or the fields to the river. Often there is seasonal produce and fresh eggs from the chickens.

ACCOMODATION FEATURES;

The hut has a comfortable king size bed with all seasons duvet, extra blankets and sheepskins for your warmth and comfort.

There are two armchairs and a table.

Log Burner

Kitchen equipped with fridge, butler sink, small two ring electric stove.

Ensuite bathroom with shower, towels and bathrobes.

Hot tub with flip flops.

We can provide OS Maps, binoculars and cycles on request.

AROUND THE HUT:

The hut is set by an old stone wall in the walled garden, apart from your private garden area feel free to access the vegetable garden (this area is shared with the owners).

The river paddock, for sitting by the river, cricket net, fishing in season, croquet. Please ask if you wish to use the table tennis or croquet so we can give you the paddles/mallets.

The orchard, where the chickens live.

We kindly ask you to leave the garden for our use except for the apple harvest when you are welcome to pick as much as you like.

Interaction with guest

You will get a warm welcome on arrival and then I will leave you to enjoy your stay and respect your privacy. I live in the nearby farmhouse and l will be available if required and if I'm in the garden I'm happy to have a chat/answer questions. Bye Mills is family home, the Shepherds Hut is entirely separate in its own garden and hopefully you will enjoy your stay without realising we are around.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Anne (the owner) a message.

If Anne (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
